You are
You are mistaken I'm afraid. When one applies for i485, there should be a A# assigned at that time, and is listed on the receipt notice.
That's why I am confused and asking if anyone else had something similar happen to them
Has anyone experienced this?
I applied for my parents and i485 receipt or the i130 receipt have no A#. They did overstay their visit visa so unsure if that's causing any issue.
Will it be okay if I apply i130 online if I don't have required documentation and one of the answers is open?
I get the green check at the end saying no warnings.
I am ok with getting a RFE and responding at that time. I just want to get the receipt for now and don't want it to be not accepted
I am a US citizen and trying to file i485 for my parents. I plan on E-filing i130 and will include a receipt with the i485 packages. I have two questions.
1) Should I mail two separate envelopes (each i485) in the same UPS envelope/package? It's just too many documents that I don't know if it can fit in one UPS envelope.
Or would it be a problem if I send two separate UPS packages? One each for my parents. I understand this will mean double the UPS mailing costs but I am okay with it.
2) There is a question on i485, "If you are the principal applicant provide the underlying receipt number" - I will fill this out with the I130 receipt number correct?
