Well, I'm not for sure exactly what vaccines she's had, they do it differently there. Her mother has been taking care of her daughter for the last 5 years while she was working. Yeah, that's my concern, if she has some vaccines, they won't accept the waiver. I'm going to say that I'm sure she has had some vaccines. We were originally going to do k2, but now nothing at all because her mother doesn't want her to get the covid jab. We just got our welcome letter from NVC 2 days ago.

I really don't know. At this point it doesn't look like she will be coming.

So my fiance has a daughter, we don't have an issue with any other vaccine except the covid. her and I have both been jabbed unfortunately, her daughter has not. Is there any way to get around covid requirements? Her daughter is 8 and lives in the remote parts of the Philippines. We were going to have her come with her, but after doing some research, it looks like she would be required to get the covid vaccine during medical, her mother will not allow that. Is there any other option?

yeah, pretty typical. I never got my noa1. I got a text message within a week. If you never get it, keep checking their website with your receipt number. When they receive it back from usps (if you don't get it that is) you'll have to go online and request they send it to you again. When you call in to make sure you've done everything, just say "infopass" to talk to someone. I called in before and after to make sure I did everything right. This is exactly what happened to me. Apr 17 noa1 date but didn't get it until November because the post office returned it. Only way I found out was from the text message thank goodness. If you don't request they resend it to you, they will think the application is dead and destroy it.

Yeah, i quadruple checked paper work. just checked it again. even had other people check it before. i guess i'll have to call them. I'm not really sure what to do. I don't understand why they would just up and cancel it out of nowhere like that?

Submitted our original i29f application on apirl 17 this year. Wasn't expecting anything back until next year. I never got my NOA1, just a text message with my reciept number. Got this message today. i don't understand what's going on? I submitted a new e-request under "other" form. Why would they cancel my i29f? I never got anything in the mail or email, just the text. I'm not sure why I would never have gotten their mail? I checked, had numerous people send me mail and I get mail just fine. Thanks ahead of time.

All I got was a lousy text message. I even had the email on there. Nothing has changed. I've searched and checked spam folders every week now.

So I received a text with my receipt number, still nothing from uscis in the mail. Should I be concerned? It has been a month. I can check online and it says it was received.

Do you have a link for the phil specific k-1 forums? I'm not seeing it anywhere. I really really really really loathe forums. Even on the main page there's not a sub forum for that.

Thank you. that's exactly why I said the PH because I figured it was country specific. these people just pointing me to the guides aren't understanding what I'm asking. Yeah I understand the 160, and another packet, but is there anything else? LIke to we have to get something form the biological father? Anything else we should be aware of or have with her, etc., the guides do not cover those at all. I'll look around and see what I can find. Thank you. That helps.

That is why I am asking questions. Just trying to get prepared and have ready to go what I need when the time comes. Thank you for you input. I just wish there was a more descriptive guide for k-1 w/ child. Kind of hard to deciper out what you need to do when they combine the guides into one. Especially if you're new to the whole process and they don't say what the abbreviations are, etc. So it's a learning process.

You're not understanding me. I'm talking about after I submit the I-29F. When it's approved, they have to do medical exam, etc. I'm trying to figure out what extra forms, steps, and what else I need to include, etc. I know I have to have another form for her when she goes in for the interview. I'm just not finding many resources that break down the extra things I need for the child step by step like the k-1 guide. It mentions the child twice. That's all. I've read those. They were the first thing I read. The instructions don't say anything about afterwards besides the medical stuff.

No, they support themselves, yeah i've heard this argument before and we have discussed it. I'm not young. She doesn't hide the relationship, I only said "friend" because technically that's all we are, we are not married yet nor are we related and that's how I thought they would perceive it. Well not everyone has an easy life. Since you asked politely, her family is very poor. She was working in Manila and lost her job as a nanny, then she found a job a few days later with some distant family relatives. They basically worked her like a slave, and she's the breadwinner of her immediate family making $120 a month. We got along great, we just never had any time because she worked 6 am until 9pm with no breaks. A side street sari sari store in Makati. Anyways, I wanted to meet her and had never been so I asked her to quit her job, since she would have had to anyways to meet me. Her boss wasn't going to let her take time off to see me, no way. We spent three weeks in Manila and haven't looked back. You know when you get those feelings about certain things? Those gut feelings, like you shouldn't be there, well you rarely get one for the opposite, something that feels right. that's about the only way I can explain it, we just work, we have the same goals, we want the same amount of kids, type of life, both come from very poor rural farming households that grew up in the middle of literal nowhere. We can communicate, aren't afraid to talk about things, and love each other. So I agreed that I would support her until we saved up enough money for her to have her own sari sari store near her home, so she would have income until she came here, then it would help support her family afterwards, since she comes from a big family. But yeah, we've met, done all the things people in a relationship do, if you catch my meaning, so it's not like I picked up a random chick off of facebook, we've been at this for a while. I understand what you're saying, that the process is actually far easier and cheaper, and probably takes less time now, that's not what I was inittially told. So that's why we have started the K-1 route and we're about elbows deep in it. Just waiting to get her daughter's passport and I was going to file. Simple citizen has been pretty good so far. Yeah I just found this website and sent it to her. You guys are pretty awesome so far and has actually given me a little hope back.
