Hi i I opened the purolator package and I was expecting a yellow envelope that says DO NOT OPEN but it was just my Canadian passport with the I-551 stamp on it, I thought the border patrol agent when I cross is suppose to stamp it ?

So wait they approved you, told you that you’re good to go and you then got a form DS-5535, so the interviewer clearly lied to you. Did they also take your passport during that time that you waited for your visa?

Good to know, I don’t want to freak out if I see refused for some reason haha, they told me I’m tentatively approved at the interview because the system was very slow that day but I’m approved based on interviewer.

Thank you so much for your reply. I heard that refused usually doesn’t mean refused, it’s just the way the system works and it eventually sends you the passport with the visa, is that correct?

Just wondering how long after the interview in Montreal does it take to get your passport and the visa ? I had my interview on January 19th and still nothing updated on the websites, no tracking number yet

If they take your passport, does that automatically mean you’re approved? They told me I’m tentatively approved because the system is slow and he can’t give the 100% at the moment but they took my passport and said it will be mailed back with the visa…

Hi i have a assault charge from 15 years ago that never went to court, they just gave me and the other person a peace bond that was eventually withdrawn after 12 months. This showed on the police clearance record is this a reason to be denied a CR1 green card visa?

Hi i I had my interview few days ago in Montreal. Everything went well and the officer told me I’m tentatively approved since the system is currently slow he can’t give me full approval until the system tells him otherwise but I am approved. He took my passport and said it will be mailed back… but the 2 passport photos I brought with me, they gave them back to me. is it because they will be using the photo the doctors office took during my medical exam?

Any update on this as to what happened? Did you end up getting the green card and what happened to your picture? I just had my interview and they gave me back my pictures too

Hi I have my interview this month in Montreal and my Police Clearance certificate from the Canadian RCMP is about 6 months old now. Is that okay? also wondering if it would be an issue that I had a peacebond in 2009 showing on it.
