  1. We applied for the I-765 along with the I-485, so I guess it's just a waiting game now?
  2. Curious what she can do while we wait for AOS approval? No SSN yet. But curious if she can apply for driver's license, open bank account, etc. Or do we need to wait for the SSN to enable all these rights?
  3. I keep hearing that they prefer tax transcripts but want to be sure which ones to attach for last three years. The Account transcripts are one-pagers and the others have more detail. Curious what people have submitted?
  4. Is it recommended to pay in separate checks or consolidate in one check when applying for these four? I-485: $1,440 I-864: $0 I-131: $630 I-765: $260 Would be $2,330 altogether 😬. Please let me know if I got an amount wrong. I'm so stressed! Also, are there any other forms that I might be missing? We got married from K-1 and looking to move onto the AOS journey.
  5. I'm about to submit my I-485 and also planning to go the same for I-765 and I-131. Is it recommended to submit them altogether or do the I-765 and I-131 online?
  6. Hello, My fiancé arrived on 2/19/24 and we got married on 3/19/24. It took the longest time to get our I-94 but we finally have that and we're ready to submit our I-485 and had a few questions: Cover page: Is there a standard for what the cover page should look like? Non-Immigrant passport: It's asking for my wife's passport copy. Can I just submit the bio page with all the information or should I make copies of the other pages with other country entry stamps (I will be including her K-1 visa page separately) Marriage certificate: Do we really need a certified copy of our marriage certificate or regular copy will suffice? I-693: I'm confused on whether we need this or not (She did her medical examination abroad in December 2023). My fiancé at the time said they took her medical paperwork at the port of entry (Newark) along with her original birth certificate (I'm a bit lost on how we would retrieve this? She mentioned that they will pass to the CDC. Maybe at our AOS interview?) Should we bind the I-485 and I-864 with paperclip, binder clip, or something? We are not planning to submit I-765 nor the I-131 (because once the green card is received, she wouldn't need to, right? And we don't have plans to travel until she receives her green card). Thank you!
  7. I can't edit certain fields nor is the PDF adjusting based on my input. I've also downloaded the PDF with the same result with my PDF editor software. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864.pdf Anyone know how to get these fields editable? I tried it online with Chrome and with my PDF Editor once I downloaded the PDF. I had trouble with Part 6: section 1 (Adding my job title), Part 5: section 8 (It's not adding my household size up), Part 6: section 20 (It's not carrying my income through from prior input).
  8. Fiancé arrived on 2/19/24. We got married and about to file I-485 and require the I-94. I looked it up and the most recent I-94 was not found. With her former passport, I can see her I-94 from 2020 and from her first passport, I can see her I-94 from 2022. This was bizarre to us. I called the CBP and they told me to email them with all the information required. It's been six weeks with no response. I'm completely at a lost now on what to do. I'm even okay to visit the airport at this point and get this solved directly if required. Anyone deal with a similar situation and any recommendations on how to solve this conundrum?
  9. Fiance arrived on 2/19/24. No I-94 form given. After reading online, it says it's electronically done. I looked for her record on https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search but it says no record found. I tried to switch around names and other fields on the site, but no luck. Is this a required item that I need to complete my I-130 or should I keep looking down the rabbit hole? Anyone I can contact for this?
  10. I'm getting a lot of pressure from companies to help with the next step but their fees seem crazy high. Anyways, curious if I understand the next steps correctly? Apply for apply for permanent residency and file Form I-485. Also apply for I-140? My fiancé is also wanting to work, so we fill out Form I-765 as well? Please let me know if this is correct. And looks like approval of the I-485 might be another 14-17 months!
  11. We got our I-797 notice date 3/24/23 and got an email about the NVC sending to embassy on 7/3/2023. So we are in similar timeline, you should be receiving this month or maybe early next month.
  12. We received our I-797 on 3/24 then heard back from the NVC on 7/3. We've received an email saying that our I-129F has been approved by the NVC/USCIS and that they will forward it to the local embassy of my fiancé. I was expecting some paper mail welcome packet that explains this process and a longer wait, but I guess we are past that? I thought the NVC portion of our journey would take longer. It says that it will take several weeks for the local embassy to process the petition. I'm curious what kind of timeline others have seen from NVC approval to local embassy in contacting my fiancé for the next step? And would the next step be the interview?
  13. Hey congrats! We just got ours approved as well. I'm curious how long it'll take to receive the NVC case number. Our approval date was March 23, 2023. I think someone said up to eight weeks, but curious if someone has a better estimate.
  14. My fiancé and I have a 3 month daughter (undergoing crba to gain citizenship/passport shortly) that are currently overseas. We are awaiting the I-129F approval that is expected around June 2023. She has a US tourist visa and we are planning a trip for her and my daughter to visit me in the States. My question is around immigration/customs (We will have an exit flight for her prepared before the six month expiration). Do we say that she is undergoing the K-1 fiancé visa process? Or just say that it's a social visit? Am I overthinking how stringent the officer will be?
