  1. OH, before I forget, I was naturalized in order to become a U.S Citizen over 10 years ago, but on the applications it does ask for Alien Registration numbers for myself, do I need to provide these even though I am a US Citizen and that number is no longer relevant in my day-to-day life, should I include this?
  2. Does anyone know whether they want an original copy of our marriage certificate in the package (concurrent filing) or a photo-copy? And on my wife's I-94 it says she was admitted as a WB, so Business Waiver Tourist, however upon her last entry they waived her through at the Global Entry line and did not ask her purpose of travel or such (neither did the kiosk), she has no business in USA so WT (Visitor for pleasure, waiver tourist) seems more applicable, should we only put (where it asks class of admission on some of the documents) what is on the I-94 or her actual purpose? Does this matter?
  3. Is there a way to print including the footer? Everything else seems to print correctly on my printer, except for this, which it shows the footer in the print preview but changing size of paper, "fit to printable page" and scaling isn't including it. Tried downloading as a PDF and printing directly from their site..
  4. Hi, sorry, me again, upon printing the documents I am noticing within the print preview it shows the footer (a barcode, edition, the name of the document and page numbers etc) but when printing it does not include the footer, is this a necessary component?
  5. Yes I meant I-130 and I-130a, with the parenthesis. What is the travel authorization document used for, so she may exit the country when she wants during greencard process or? Oh awesome I didn't even realize G-1145 was a thing, are we "lockbox" filing? Got it, won't use the word illegally 😄 thank you for the clarification on no extra form for the overstay forgiveness
  6. Sorry for the confusion, yes I'm aware, what I meant was I need to remember to put her married name in any fields instead of maiden name, as she wants her married name on any future documentation 😄, really just a rambling comment to myself there so as to not forget to do so
  7. Also, when including the checks, should they be separated (535+1225) or joint (1760)? And what happens if the I-130 is rejected, will the check for I-485 still be cashed just to be told to re-do (aka, lose the 1225)? Or would they cash the checks consecutively, so only when I-130 is approved cash the I-485. What typically will make an I-130 be rejected? Aside from triple-checking our information (including inputting my wife's name as her married name rather than her maiden), is there anything else we can do to avoid it being rejected? Thanks a lot for any info!
  8. Ok so we are somewhat ready to file, getting all the documents in order (printer issues slowed us down sadly, so will still need to print at a Walgreens or something😕). Will we need to file anything in addition to the I-130(a), I-864, I-485, and I-765 considering we will be filing while she is now here illegally? Something to ask for the overstay forgiveness? Also, I am compiling the evidence, but to go so far back in our messages to get screenshots from there seems like it would take a while, will pictures of our travels together, flight tickets, pictures with family at events, wedding photos, gifts, screencaps from family's social media posts etc be enough without the need for lovey-dovey texts? A lot of (not all) our messaging was also on a platform that is username based so not tied to our names, which seems like it would be pointless evidence.
  9. Awesome thank you! When you say the marriage certificate is the legal name change document, does her name on the certificate have to be her new name? As it's not, it's her maiden name on there.
  10. Hey so update, we got married, but now the confusion lies in she wants to change her name legally but we're unsure what the process for that is / how to do it, and whether or not we can file our documents before legally changing her name but with the name that she wants instead. What's the best path to change her name legally (her passport will have the wrong name) and make sure if/when she gets her greencard the name on it is her new married name?
  11. Here it says that a copy of the birth certificate is needed, not original, am I missing something? Also, does anyone know how to provide proof of bonafide marriage if we don't have a joint ownership of property/she's not on the lease (maybe I can change that? she wasn't in the country when I started my tenancy here)/no joint bank accounts/no children/ we CAN get affidavits of bonafide marriage by family/friends. We can provide evidence of a relationship but not this typical marriage stuff yet considering we are yet to marry.
  12. We are marrying during her legal stay, but how would the clerks office/court know whether or not the person marrying is out of status or not? No I don't believe she has the original, she might do, but it can be mailed worst case.
  13. This is true, my bad for that, however pre-applications don't exist anywhere in the USCIS world as far as I'm aware so my response was saying I don't know why you'd think I would think of something non-existent Yes, I have not looked into much about immigration and blindly trusted an attorney I thought would know the best route considering.. he's an immigration attorney, so I definitely was lost. There were no hard feelings I appreciate the help everyone has given and maybe after my process I can help others also. edit: and I will surely have plenty more questions as the process continues lol
