  1. With the Certificate taking a minimum 30 days, I am assuming it is needed at NVC stage, will this not delay us a further month?
  2. Hi Guys, Applying for spousal green card, London consulate. Submitted our I30Jan 2023 expecting it to be looked at in around 3 months time. We want to have everything ready to go at NVC stage. Is now a good time to apply for my police cert? I have read it has a 12 month validity, but then also read somewhere about it cannot be older than 6 months for your interview. Also we are due to move into temporary accommodation in 2 weeks as we have sold our house. So the address on the form will not be our current address once we get to interview stage. Any advice appreciated
  3. That was a post previously just referring to the fact I have had a green card before which was direct, but this one is not. I am having to go to the NVC. This is my second green card
  4. Sorry I don't understand, our application is not direct with embassy
  5. Help, please! I know there is not going to be a definitive answer given here as it is impossible, however has anyone had any recent feedback to suggest USCIS estimated times are accurate? Long story, but our NOA1 date is January 2023 so you would think our I30 application (Spouse of American citizen)is a few months off yet, however our USCIS time says 2 weeks and has stayed stable for a few months now. The only reason I am really trying to find out, is we have a house sale pending and our onward move really relies on it. In the next week or so we need to make some big decisions with regards to housing so any feedback or in general advice would be great! Thank you!
  6. Hi everyone, I have done all this before for my first green card however it was direct with London consulate so very different! I am preparing for NVC stage which is all new to me, here in the U.K. the police certificate (like everything) seems to have delays. So I want to get onto this and get it ordered in readiness, however I appreciate it is only valid for a year. My questions: Does the police cert get sent to NVC or just presented at interview? Being valid for a year is that from date of issue to your interview date? I am trying to best understand when best to order it, without it delaying us being able to submit to NVC. Thank you
  7. Exact same as me ,not getting excited expecting it to change!
  8. That is strange. Obviously has been some changes to the times, but I can’t understand how it would change so much for people differently
  9. Hi Guys, I30 waiting with USCIS, my estimated processing time overnight has dropped from 9 months to 2 months... With Nebraska service center. Anyone else had this? Although this is good news, we have a house sale and other things that were being based on 9 months until USCIS decision. But we will roll with it.
  10. Thank you for that, saves us some wasted time. Do you know if USCIS reject our expedite request if this harms or delays our filing?
  11. Hi, My wife has already submitted our I30 to USCIS for approval online and we are with the Nebraska Service center. We have about 10 months(ish) left on the process. On the London embassy website there is an area where you can request direct filing. There is a section where you can put current USCIS filing receipt number. If I try direct filing and get denied will that impact my filing with the USCIS? The fact you have the option to put your current USCIS receipt number makes me think we wont. Back story on why we want to file and have potential reason too. I previously have been issued a green card from the London Embassy in 2018 and correctly surrendered when we moved back to the UK in 2021, regretted it and we are now moving back (long story, but a mistake we will not make again) anyway, whilst I was in the USA I obtained my NMLS license (Mortgage broker license) if that is not used by Feb 2024 I loose it. Do you think this might constitute exceptional circumstances, as it will effect my employment opportunities? The reality is I know I can re do it, but the exam is really tough and I really do not want too. Appreciate any thoughts.
  12. Hello, I randomly reviewed our I30 form today and realised we made a mistake (VERY annoying) I know! We were having issues with the form allowing our current address to enter "Present" thought we had fixed it but now I have realised we have duplicated our current address in Address 1 and 2 box. Would you go through the USCIS typographic error or leave it? The rest of the addresses are correct. Will entering a typographic delay our case? Thank you
  13. My wife moved to the UK only 5 years ago (she is 28) so that is fine. Our second child was born in the UK and we had no problems getting his American citizenship. I am pretty sure there is also another element to that where it says about since the age of 14, which she has
  14. Hi, My wife the American citizen applied for my green card (both live in the U.K) My wife is pregnant with our 3rd child (other two children are American citizens) and our 3rd will be eligible also. My wife is due in November and my approval expectation is not until January 2024. So most likely new baby will be here before I get I-30 approved. Should we make USCIS aware, or does this not effect anything as the baby will become an American citizen in its own right. Thank you
  15. Thank you. My spouse does live abroad with me (she is dual nationality U.K and USA) we are both living in the UK right now. She will be moving back to the USA once i get my green card. How does she prove domicile in this situation? We have two little boys (also American citizens) so she wants to stay with me until we can all move together
  16. You are right. For the NVC stage... My wife is the petitioner and we will be using a joint sponsor (her dad) Am I right in thinking. Tax transcripts for the most recent year, two I-864 forms filled out and any bank statements showing capital we have in our American account? What other documents will we most likely need. Civil documents - is that marriage certificate? Thank you
  17. Over the weekend our estimate I30 approval went from 7 months, to 11 months! Nebraska service center. Has anyone else experienced their estimation going up in recent days?
  18. Worth knowing. My estimated time for I-30 processing is at 7 months, as per my USCIS log in. So I was thinking 4/5 months after that? But will bear that in mind. Thank you
  19. Ok, I thought that was maybe the case which obviously I wouldn't do. Yes definitely will go for citizenship this time!
  20. I have an American wife and two American children. They live with me in the U.K. (dual nationality USA and UK, they are not me. I am a U.K. citizen) I have lived in the states before, have an SSN, drivers license etc. However that was on a previous green card which I went through the correct channels and surrendered around 4 years ago when we moved back to the UK We have applied for my green card via sending I-30, I will then go to consular processing in London after being sent to NVC etc. My question… this is taking around 12 months and we could really do with being in the USA before this. Am I able to enter the USA and then adjust my status and transfer my filing of I30? Hope this makes sense. I think I know the answer is no, there is no correct way to do it, but thought I would pose it. Thank you, really appreciate any help
  21. I was going to do that. A few of the 'auto' populates seem to not work
  22. Hi Guys, I -864 instructions say this " Item Number 8. Household Size. Add together Part 5., Item Numbers 1. - 7. and type or print the number in the space provided. If you or someone else is completing Form I-864 on a computer, this box will auto-populate" No problem - but on the PDF it stays as 1 (auto populated) household size, and this is not editable. However, the numbers which are there correctly should stipulate 4 in the household, not 1 which is not being populated. Has anyone noticed this before or am I missing something?
