  1. DQ: 2023/04/10 IL: none yet Visa type: CR1 Case at: NVC Based on a conversation with a friend, he has a friend who is also still waiting, DQ'd 2 months ago. I am told that the details of our cases are similar; the visa type is the same. Anyone else still waiting for IL at USEM on a CR1/IR1 visa?
  2. Sorry to hear this. Hopefully you can get this taken care of fairly quickly!
  3. Totally a guess: FE is "field examiner"; as in, it is a note for the interviewing/examining officer at the embassy or consulate (field office). My 30-second googlefu, however, was not strong enough for me to cite any authoritative source and claim the coveted crown of being right on the internet.
  4. Following is the content of the aforementioned cover letter. I also uploaded the PDF mentioned within this cover letter. These submissions, in addition to submitting the missing marriage termination documents, resulted in the case being DQ'd. I hope this helps other US veterans seeking to qualify with using only their VA C&P benefit as the means for qualification. Compensation.pdf
  5. 2023/03/07 - submitted 2023/03/22 - two case FE notes 2023/03/22 - submitted additional documentation NOW - Still waiting for DQ, the newly submit documentation still shows as "SUBMITTED"
  6. Not yet. I'm estimating that I'll hear back very soon--possibly today; it's been about 15 days since I submitted the additional documents. Congrats, @Papps. Hopefully this is a good sign for the other Nebraska folks that have been waiting far beyond the call of ordinary patience!
  7. Yes, i believe thats correct. If the case note specifies the petitioner's marriage termination documents, upload it on the same tab where the other AOS stuff was uploaded. If the case note specifies a document needed for the applicant, upload it on the tab with the other IV stuff. At least that is my understanding of it. Good luck.
  8. I don't know. I have marriage termination documents for 2 marriages. They only requested documents for 1. I sent both, just in case. These were the same documents uploaded for the I-130. I don't really care why they are asking for it, it is easy enough to just upload. I imagine looking at hundreds of cases every day, it is difficult to see the people behind the documents... All one sees is black & white like the letters in an endless stream of documents. I don't fault these immigration officers for missing 1 page stuck to another. Even if its entirely electronic, it has to be a hard, thankless job, and the customer is never happy. The "ACCEPTED" means that the document has been added to the case file. Upload the requested document and click "submit documents" again. Everything else will still say "accepted" but the new documents will also appear in the list and say "submitted". Then you wait again. You will repeat this until you are documentarily qualified. This is my understanding of the process. Hope this info helps. Good luck.
  9. Somehow we got lucky and we both feel like we married "up". She tolerates me and I give her more to tolerate than she ever asked for. Just joking, of course. She definitely asked for it.
  10. Well, at least you're not stewing. ba-da-tiss Oh, just ask my wife how fun she finds my puns. I can hear her rolling her eyes right now. The fun-est.
  11. Fudge, you're right! Well, i guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Maybe i'll get lucky and hear something by sundae. Every time the case moves forward, ice cream with much delight. This process has been no cakewalk, and the financial investment sure ain't peanuts. But now I'm running out of puns, so like a banana, I'm gonna split. (Ending with that one really was the cherry on top.)
  12. Thanks for the information. I do see "ACCEPTED" on both the AOS and the IV. But i haven't seen anything that says DQ yet. Both notes in the messages section read, "Case FE review note". That seems like soft wording. So maybe its a soft DQ. 🤣 And now I want soft-serve ice cream.
  13. I bet they are smart, and also not stupid... If i had a hundred cases coming across my desk every day, you had better believe I'd RFE someone's case before I drove myself insane guessing what they might have meant when they uploaded something that wasn't immediately clear. 🤣
  14. I've uploaded a letter explicitly indicating my means to satisfy the requirements. I will share that letter here as a point of reference when I can also share the outcome as a metric of its success or failure, as the case may be. I'll be the guinea pig. I will have uploaded nothing else except exactly what I will share in a future post. 🔬
  15. Not with the AOS/IV packets. They were submitted with the I-130, of course. Actually, NVC asked only for the 1st marriage, not the 2nd marriage. I went ahead and uploaded both now. Yes. A 100% service connected, "total and permanent" VA income is substantially above poverty guidelines. After some more reading, I believe the problem is that I did not explicitly indicate the means to qualify, but rather only implicitly indicated. I submitted the VA benefit letter, my DD-214, bank statements, but did explicitly attach a cover letter explaining why my income had no tax records associated with it. Instead, for the "FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN OR TRANSCRIPT" upload, I only placed this comment: "NON-TAXABLE, VETERAN DISABILITY, 100 PERCENT TOTAL AND PERMANANT (VA BENEFIT LETTER UPLOADED AS EVIDENCE)". Based on information in other threads, I will generate a cover letter which explicitly indicates my intended means for AOS qualification and re-submit. I can understand how implicit evidence can be insufficient documentation for the officer reviewing the case. Did you have a particular live stream in mind? I've seen a number of such immigration lawyer channels and live streams. I'm familiar with Hacking Immigration, for example. Did you have a particular topic video or response in mind?
  16. Heard back today, no DQ yet. They needed a copy of divorce papers from previous marriage and the AOS needs some more supporting documents. More detail here.
  17. We heard from NVC, and they are requesting more documentation. Specifically, these were the messages in the inbox: Please submit a marriage termination document between the Petitioner and [redacted]. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines. This case does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. The first item was simple enough to submit. I'm not sure exactly the best approach for the second item. My income is non-taxable income from the VA. It is above the poverty standards. I submitted the VA Benefit Verification Letter, my DD-214, over 2 years of the most recent bank statements showing direct deposit... These were the documents mentioned by others on VJ with the same income scenario. I'll keep looking in to it. Of course this is slightly discouraging, but not entirely unexpected. I'll continue updating about our experience for the posterity of this sort of crowd-sourced information. These forums have certainly been invaluable to us.
  18. Bummer. We're expecting DQ (...or RFE...) this week. Care to share some detail on what else they needed? Was it for the AOS or IV?
  19. Oh, yes, it definitely sounds like it just isn't feasible to leavev at this time. Actually, I think @Volli is right, you're probably within a couple weeks of approval. On our I-130, the initial "10.5 months" was wrong. They later changed it to "11.5 months", but that went by, too. It was 377 days for our case. THe time was based on what Texas Service Center was reporting. So that can also be misleading. A chat through EMMA revealed that the case went to Potomac Service Center on the very same day it arrived at TSC. So the USCIS times are more or less meaningless, IMO. The helped pass the first 11.5 months and then the last few weeks was hell, thinking that we somehow slipped thru the cracks.
  20. I'm sorry this is happening. I wish I could click a magic switch and make this process instantly be done. I understand that feeling very well. I don't know if you have the ability, but one of the best ways to get through this part is.. if it is possible.. the American spouse can travel to the foreign spouse. Maybe hiring a lawyer is better, I'm not sure what is best for you. But i think it is so easy to forget what is important when waiting on the bureaucracy. As for me, I am the American spouse, and after convincing myself it was infeasible to be with my spouse in her home country, someone told me, "Just go, the only thing holding you back is you." But instead of rejecting it outright (as i had countless times before), something different happened. I began to envision what that would look like. What it would actually take. I opened my mind to the possibility. And it was as if the universe finally made a way, because all the road blocks i expected were only immovable in my mind, and in the story i had myself believed. I've been in the Philippines since October 2022. And "living together" (i'm just here on a tourist visa) hasn't always been easy. But I am so glad I did it. We have had time to finally find our rhythm together. While here, our I-130 was approved. I was lurking the USCIS website, finally saw a change, and screamed, "it was approved!" It was 1am, she was asleep next to me, but delighted to receive the news. And now we're waiting on the NEXT thing.. NVC. haha. You have so much to be grateful for. Your spouse, also. And i know being away is hard. We endured it. Most of us here in these forums have or are enduring it. Some people never get a relationship worth enduring. Some are perhaps somewhat foolish martyrs and endure simply for the sake of martyrdom. I think my story could be an example of that. All the best to you and your spouse, my friend. Good luck, and i hope i was able to offer some hope.
  21. Hello. Based on current NVC processing times, my wife and I are expecting to hear from NVC this coming week, hopefully that we are documentarily qualified. I'll be sure to share when we have information on that. Hope everyone is having a good weekend and continuing successes with their cases.
  22. @Ramirez65 well you clearly won the lion's share of the anxiety genes in the family: 🤣🤣🤣
