  1. Hello Everyone, We got our Visas Approved. Many details have been provided by others already. I will try to provide some tips that you may find helpful. Medical: We got ours done at Dr. Lyndon’s office in Toronto. Tip – book the Lifelabs appointment in advance, may be 1 hour after your doctor’s appointment. If you don’t have life labs appointment you may have to wait for an additional 1 to 2 hours at Lifelabs. Do X-rays before or after the Life labs appointment depending on the time it takes at the doctor’s office. Immunity test: Do it in advance. It goes to public health and they may take upto 3 weeks. If you are expecting an interview email soon, that’s the best time to get it done and be ready with it. Depending upon immunity results you will have to take additional vaccines. Also, after your Medical with the doctor you need to give about 2-3 weeks for the doctor’s email confirmation that your eMedical has been sent to consulate. Plan accordingly, so that there is no rush towards the interview date. Interview: The consulate is right beside RBC ATM. You can see a big RBC sign on the building. There are glass doors with US Consulate Signs. Right across the street there is a big Victoria Secret Location! You won’t miss it especially during night/evening hours with their Pink and shiny LED bill boards. We went couple of days before the interview and took a hotel walking distance to the consulate. Consulate is in downtown so you will find many hotel options. As per my search the two closest to the consulate were Best Western and Sheraton. You can take your phone but have to turn it off and place in the small locker at the consulate. Format and Questions have been already been provided by others and are case specific. Follow the process, be patient, focus on the mandatory documents (+ one copy of each mandatory document), photographs. Thank you to everyone who provided their suggestions, this forum has been of immense help.
  2. Hello @KO7 How was your interview. As per your earlier post it was on April 15th !!
  3. Looks like we have an update As of July 11th, 2023, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in May 2023; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in April 2023; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in January 2021. Good to see that the backlog has been cleared for IR and Family preference. Hopefully MTL will now clear it for EB cases as well. As per latest update EB DQ date is same as prior month mainly due to Priority date not being current for some countries. Does anyone know what is the latest EB2 DQ data in MTL for countries with current priority date
  4. @VRG you can raise a nvc inquiry by submitting online inquiry form with your case number they will add your kids to your file within a week
  5. @KDEE sorry to hear that ! Your dq is Jan 2021 hopefully the dates will move forward soon.
  6. @KDEE you should be fine as your dq is established and it is Jan 2022. Anyways it will take a few months for this date dq to be picked up for interview. By then the pd dates hopefully will move fwd again. Most likely in the new fiscal year oct 2023 - new visas are allocated and dates should move forward again then if not before.
  7. Thank you for your replies. I see that the date of filing is still current where as final action date has retrogressed. Hoping nvc will continue with the process so that dq gets established. Anyways there is an additional waiting of 1.5 yr to 2yr after dq for IL for IL its understandable pd - final action date should be current for visa availability.
  8. Hello Friends, the priority date for eb2 India retrogressed to jan 2011 as per April 2023 visa bulletin. my 824 recently got approved after 15 months. (my pd was current for last 14 months and now it got retrogressed) I am waiting for NVC to generate fee bill number. Does the pd need to be current for nvc to request documents/pay fee bill ? or will they hold again for dates to become current again? I was hoping once DQ is done atleast DQ date would be established and in line for IL ? For IL I understand pd should be current. please provide any inputs based in your experience. Thanks!
  9. Thank you for your replies. @3LabMom, @AAC24 - very nicely worded. ! "I think most EB cases that are approved in this group were in healthcare or already working in US with some other visa category( mostly TN) or working in Canada for US employer" @sjy - Yes it helps good to know.
  10. Hello Everyone Congrats on your IL. Thanks for posting gives us hope when we see Aug 2021 DQ for April 2023 IL. As per latest update on website the Employment based dq is still Jan 2021 Common question to all : looks like many of you are already working in US on TN or other visas? Anyone working in Canada and applying for CP who got IL - Approval ?
  11. Thx @TheMaverick I have to apply h1 first in Premium processing. When I applied i824 to change to cp in 2021 oct at that time it wasn’t clear how long AOS may take and lawyer said both cp and aos will take 1.5 yr I have kids going to school and job - project already in Canada so I applied for 824 Now looks like AOS is streamlined many ppl r getting gc in 6 months if their dates are current and 140 Approved already( non concurrent ) whereas cp - current timeline at Montreal is 2+ years after dq!
  12. @DTCC and @TheMaverick thx for your replies. I havent submitted the documents to NVC yet as my i824 ( to shift AOS to CP) just got Approved. i824 itself took about 13 months and I am looking at more 2+ years for IL after DQ I guess For IL does the priority date matter or do they go by DQ date only ? My PD is 2011 - India. Took 10+ years for PD to be current then I wanted to apply CP but was told I have to apply i824 first.
