  1. I believe they’re issuing DS-5535 like a free candy. If their system triggers something then definitely will get a DS5535.
  2. Hi Everyone, Just an update on my case. Not a desirable update but would like to share with you guys. On September 13th, I received an unsolicited update on my case after a very long time. Then today I received an email response that I sent to consulate on September 6th for an update on my case. Case is going under administrative processing…… Does it happen to anyone else or I’m the rare case here? would appreciate your feedback and advice.
  3. Hello Everyone, I have a question, when you apply for the notes/visa refusal records from the US consulate Montreal under FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) and receive a reply from FOIA office, does it triggers a case update date?
  4. Seems like you’ll hear good news soon, if the Consulate or DOS keep up the pace in clearing out AP cases..
  5. Did you get the passport and medical request from consulate Montreal while being placed in AP?
  6. Hey! Would you help me filling out this CIS Ombudsman? I checked isn’t it related to USCIS?
  7. Bring your cv/resume with you on the interview day. Just in case if they ask then hand it to them
  8. Hi All, I need your assistance with this email reply I received from my congressman today regarding update on our case. Here’s the attachment below: Did anyone else receive the same kind of reply when they contacted their congressman to pursue on the case?
  9. I was also interviewed on September 27, 2023. I haven’t received any update on my case. On July 3rd, I received the email reply from consulate that “Case is still going through administrative processing…..”. Kindly update here if you receive the good news of sending passport back to Montreal consulate.

  11. I have read somewhere in the previous thread (dreaded AP Part 2 Montreal, something like this) where people had discussed about the same thing to update it when it’s reopened, as many people were still waiting for the adjudication AP email from the consulate. As far I remember and you guys can check that thread as well, they waited for the consulate email to update DS-260 and submit DS-260 confirmation page, passport , medical, and PC. I think @Ontarkie can also shed some light on it as they are an old member of the thread.
  12. So your DS-260 was reopened on July 21st, 2024 that’s when you had your interview? Or did it took more than 1 year.
  13. I think when you login to your ceac account and go to the DS-260 tab. Somewhere I saw yesterday explaining about the estimated burden time. You’ll find information regarding this “estimated burden” thing in detail. Also, I came to know from other folks here in this platform regarding “expiring soon” thing… It is actually the “ceac visa status” where it says your immigrant application “refused or issue”. Once you hit the 1 year mark from your interview date it starts showing expiring soon as consulate has set up a timeline of 1 year from the date of your interview or the documents submission whichever is closer…its my understanding, anyone else with more solid information can shed some light on it. Thanks
  14. Are you guys talking about this expiry date or there’s another expiry date for DS-260? @Kara.gana @Vancan
  15. Here’s the screenshot of the information. What is this expiry date about?
  16. Hello Everyone! I just logged in to my ceac account and checked the DS-260 expiration date (October 31, 2025), it’s on the top right corner of the form. There was also an estimated burden ~ 155min. My interview was on September 27, 2023. I have no idea what this date is. Does anyone have an idea about it?
  17. 100% agree. So much time wasted just for reuniting with our families.
  18. Hopefully everyone will get clearance soon and start their life with family.
