  1. TFL are striking at it will affect 15th and morning of 16th. All the main rail companies are striking 16th, morning of 17th, 18th, and morning of 19th.
  2. Yeah at least we should know by this time next week. I guess the Embassy are still waiting to see if it's called off or not. If there's alternative availability for later this month, that's not too bad. I'd be annoyed if we had to wait until May/June
  3. Did the Embassy explicitly state that appointment was cancelled due to the strikes? Just wondering if this could just be due to coincidence?
  4. I would suspect if they are going to cancel appointments, they would have done so already. Plus it's a Governmental organisation, they'll pay for and expense private town-cars/taxis/hotels if they have to!
  5. I'd be affected by this too, and my interview is first thing on the 15th. Looking back at previous strike days, it looks like others were OK on those days. I can't find anyone who had their interview cancelled on a strike day. I'm just planning on being there for several hours if Embassy staff are late getting in. I suspect that as this isn't the first time this has happened in London, the Embassy will have plans in place.
  6. But how does this work with the I-94, which CBP handles? If you get a CR-1 stamp incorrectly, you will fall out of status on CBPs end after 2 years. Won't this cause issues if you have to leave and re-enter the US, even if you have a (correct) 10-year greencard? Presumably also, your I-94 "status" will be CR/1, so do you have to file for RoC after 2 years?
  7. Really useful, thanks. Wonder if her delay in Secondary was related to it being the last day? Just for stopover planning!
  8. I think it's unlikely for us and our circumstances, but I'll never say never. Also our US Embassy historically doesn't have the AP black-hole like some do. A delay of up to 5 months however won't be a problem; the average is 1 week here I have read on VJ Thanks, but I'm confused why timezones make a difference? Please could you elaborate? We got married on the 19th July (it was the 19th July in the US too) and are planning to leave our country on the 20th July (+ 2 years) and enter the US on the evening of 20th July. That's clearly a day after?
  9. Yes, it will be 2 years + 1 day. I just wondered with it being so close to the visa expiry date whether this would cause me issues. Thank you
  10. I have my CR1 visa interview next month. Planning ahead, I am thinking about entering the US just two weeks before the CR1 visa expires so it would convert to an IR1 (ie entering 5 months, 2 weeks after my medical, so in August) . Has anyone had similar experiences please? Did you encounter any problems at the PoE? Would you recommend this? Thanks
  11. I'm fairly certain USCIS does during AoS, so would suspect the DoS do too; the processing times are always longer for LPR petitioners
  12. Yes citizen IR usually always takes priority and have much more privileges under the INA US law
