  1. Gosh, that sucks. I hope they resolve those technical issues somewhat soon for you. It seems like Toronto is super fast at responding, which is nice. That's good to hear the intake went smooth. I hope it goes good for me to. Dang, that's exactly the same amount of time it would take for us too. We live near Sault Ste Marie. Yeah, I will definitely keep you updated. Thanks for replying so fast. We have my daughters CRBA appointment at the end of this month in Ottawa. Maybe I can talk to someone in person there with any questions.
  2. How did this end up going? I have a DCF intake at the US Consulate in Toronto on April 6th. I start at the Police Academy on May 1 in Nebraska. We're trying to get as much done as possible and have the RCMP checks under the Privacy Act completed and my wife has her medical exam at the end of February.
  3. Yep, I disclosed it on question 3, but I also mentioned that I submitted the I-130 with the USCIS because I heard that Canada doesn't do DCF and that I can write a Withdrawal Letter to the USCIS if necessary.
  4. Hey guys, is anyone in here doing the Direct Consular Filing route? We ended up getting scheduled for an appointment the first week of April! Here's my original thread:
  5. So Montreal reached out to me and asked for the following: Please provide Petitioner’s address/residence Please confirm that Petitioner is currently present in Canada Has the Petitioner already filed a petition with USCIS? Please provide an explanation of the exceptional circumstances (include scanned documentation to support the case, e.g. employment letter, deployment orders, medical documents, etc. ). Petitioner’s Last Name: Petitioner’s Maiden Name: Petitioner’s First Name: Petitioner’s Alias (Also known as): Petitioner’s Middle Name: Petitioner’s DOB, POB: Applicant’s Last Name: Applicant’s Maiden Name Applicant’s First Name: Applicant’s Middle Name: Applicant’s DOB, POB: Family relationship Petitioner-Applicant (child/spouse/parent 😞 They also stated, "The applicant does not have to come to Montreal to submit the I-130 petition. Any U.S. Consulate in Canada will accept it. In fact, some consulates might be able to provide earlier appointments than Montreal. If the application is accepted by a consulate, they will forward it by mail to Montreal for further processing." I emailed Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto yesterday. Montreal hasn't responded yet, Ottawa didn't help at all, and Toronto asked if I can come in April for an interview. So that's awesome to hear! If I was to finish Packet 3 early, do you think they'd accept it? I know my wife would have to do two interviews, but we're trying to get ahead by already getting our police certificates and she has her medical scheduled for the end of this month.
  6. We're in the same situation. I emailed everything to Montreal in hopes to DCF, but I heard they don't accept it so I ended up applying for the I-130 online too. I added a ton of proof and a separate document explaining our situation in hopes of expiditing. Do you think my DCF would be void now?
  7. Thanks for the reply. Oh I gotcha, we ended up submitting the I-130 online with a bunch of proof and a letter stating our circumstances. Would the DCF not work now (if it was to get approved some how)? The I-130 I put in also says, "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" but I received an email this morning saying, "we have taken action on your case".
  8. Thanks for the quick reply. I guess we'll apply for Consular Processing and hope it goes fast. Thank you.
  9. Has anyone ever tried to request Direct Consular Filing through Montreal? I just emailed them today to ask if they would consider our situation and attached a bunch or supporting documentation.
