  1. Thank you. Also, where do I send my paper work? And in part 3 do we put a intended date of departure or leave everything else blank?
  2. Good morning, I am writing in hopes that someone can help me with information pertaining to form I-131. When completing should my husband check the advance parole box or another box? It just seems like the advance parole is requesting travel for an emergency situation and that doesn't apply to him. I thought it was just a form for regular travel. I am a little confused. Also, what location do we send all forms to? We are going to send all together at the same time. Please help. Thank you!
  3. Can anyone tell me when traveling to the United States on a K1 visa with your fiance, can you remain together at the airport when going through customs or does he have to go through by himself since he is not a citizen? I have read different things. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you so much! We are flying into Miami as well from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Did they ask any questions or just reviewed the envelope? I am glad to hear it didn't take too long. Thanks again.

It has been a while for us.  I believe they asked him when he was planning to marry me and the location.

Definitely keep in mind that Dominican Republic does get scrutinized a bit more than other places (like Argentina), so just be ready for either scenario.  They might ask him more things, question him longer, go into a separate room, etc.

      Okay, sounds good. Thanks again.

  4. I have another question. I did not complete a DS-160 for my fiance's children because they are not coming to the United States with him. Does he need to take a copy of their birth certificates even though they are not joining him? The website you shared said yes but I am wondering why if they are not coming. I did list them on the petition when I filed but now they are not coming. Do you have any idea on that? Thanks.

Since you have listed them, they may ask you why they are not coming. It wouldn't hurt to bring their birth certificates, if you have them on hand. For the interview, it is the originals and not copies (unless they are certified copies).

Okay, thanks. He doesn't have them on hand so he will have to get them. The children live with their mother so we will see if she has them. Thanks again.

  5. thank you everyone. I called the Embassy in Santo Domingo and they said since it was the original document from the country it did not need to be translated. I am hearing mixed things so I will get it translated anyway. Better safe than sorry.
  6. Hi there, Can anyone tell me if the Embassy in Santo Domingo requires original documents (i.e. birth certificate and police report) to be translated into English? My fiance lives in Dominican Republic and of course his documents are in Spanish but I was wondering if they needed to be translated? I would think not but I just want to be sure. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
  7. Good morning,

I just wanted to say thank you for the information you gave me last week. I am pleased to say that my case now says that it is "in transit" to the Embassy. I did want to know if you could tell me about how long does it take for the case to get there and how long does it take to get to the "ready" phase. Again, thank you. Your information has been on point.

      Hi Jamie,

Once again you were right. My case moved to ready today and when I went in to schedule the interview, I received a message that said "Your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You will receive an email once your request is approved". Is this a normal response? We thought we would automatically be able to schedule once paid the DS-160 fee. Please advise. Thanks.

Hey, I’m not sure. I haven’t gotten that far, yet. It would do you some good to update your timeline and use the tool that allows you to see others who have a similar timeline to yours. They may be able to advise you further.

  8. Good morning,

  9. Thank you so much! How long does it take for the papers to get to Embassy? I am reading roughly about 5 days? Also, does it take a long time for the Embassy to give the "ready" status? Another question, do you know if DR embassy issues the visa on the same day as the interview or is there a wait period and if so, how long? Sorry for so many questions.
  10. I think she was referring to K-1 visas.

How long have you been waiting for the interview?

  11. I am just corresponding through email with NVC and I have gotten so many discrepancies dealing with them when I inquire about something. But thank you, that is good news. Will embassy send me a letter by mail or email to let me know that they have my case and I can schedule my interview? I have completed the DS-160 just need to pay the fee and then schedule. This makes me feel so much better as I have been waiting for this for almost two years now.
  12. Yes. I have my case number. I sent an inquiry and NVC first said embassy was not conducting interviews because of COVID. When I responded and said online says they are conducting interviews then they responded and said only a select number of cases are being done. But Embassy said they were conducting interviews. I am confused. I never received my welcome letter but when I inquired about my case number they sent it to me.
  13. Is anyone having any luck with interviews at Santo Domingo Dominican Republic embassy? My case is still at NVC and they are saying that interviews at Santo Domingo is limited. Has anyone else experienced this?
