Thank you very much for the tips.
I am gathering together all the documents, so far I only have my birth certificate translated and certified.
I do have my Baptismal certificate and my dad's name is on it, do I need my dad's Baptismal certificate as well?
Anyone knows where I can have the baptismal certificates translated? I think I can do it myself but i am not sure if it would be accepted.

Hello everyone,
I would appreciate all the information you guys can give me.
I recently became a US Citizen and I am filling form I-130 to bring my dad to the US.
The questions I have are:
I have my birth certificate translated and certified, the I-130 form and the money of course.
What else do I need?
They ask for marriage certificate or divorce papers but my dad was never married to my mom or anybody.
My mom died many years ago, I don't know the reason why they never got married.
Do i need a paper from the church or any other governamental office as a proof that my dad is single?
Also, my dad is in Colombia and he is 61 years old and he has never been in the US.
I believe that all the information I have.
I really apreciate your answers.
Thank you

Hello Everyone,
I just want to explain a little of my whole process to get Naturalized:
I applied for Naturalization based on 7 years of Permanent Residence. I was married to a US Citizen for over 5 years, got divorced so I am not sure but I couldn't apply based on 3 years of marriage since I was divorced when I decided to submit the N-400.
Submitted N-400 sometime at the end of June to Vermont ( Sorry I don't have exact dates)
They got my application on June 29
Check was cashed the first days of July
Got the receipt a week later around July 8
Got letter for FP on July 15
Fingerprints taken at the end of July
Received letter for Naturalization on January 14(It was my birthday so I got it as a present )
Went to Naturalization appointment in Garden City, NY on March 12, 2008.
They didn't approve me for the Oat Ceremony, so they gave me a letter stating to wait a month for a decision on my Naturalization, I was a little worried since the lady who interview me had a big thick file of all my history on her desk, and said that she needed to review my file before making any desicions. I passed the Civics and US Goverment Test, got all 10 questions right, passed the english test as well. I didn't wait for too long, got there at 1:15PM and I was out by 2:30PM
Got letter for Oat Ceremony on March 18,2008 at 8:30AM Location: Court Plaza, in Brooklyn NY
That's it, If you would like to know anything else, please reply with the questions.

It's a little too dificult to remember all the 10 questions they asked me, but i tell you something just study the 100 questions and try to learn all of them, that's what I did, it's not complicated at all, just memorize them.
I was surprised with one question they asked and that was "In what year the Declaration of Independence was proclamed" for my luck I knew the answer.
Also try to study a few days before your test.
Sorry about my late repply, I forgot about this topic.
Good luck!
