  1. We saw posts about USCIS mail lost or was sent to the wrong address after address change. Figured our parents' address was more permanent than our rental address, which might change during this long process. Thank you so much for your suggestion. We are going to try that next week.
  2. Basic background: K1 entry AOS filed ~8 months ago. No EAD/AP. (bio taken 7 months ago, only got a RFE on i485 for birth certificate ~4 months ago) 765 status: we are actively reviewing 131 Status: application received We used our parents' address when filing for AOS. We are renting right now and are afraid of losing important documents, etc. We live in a different state that requires a flight to get to our parents' Our grandmother has become very sick and was sent home by doctor from ICU. We got a terminally ill notice from the doctor. We called USCIS and requested an expedite processing on AP. (we tried few times before for EAD with a pending job offer but no success.) We were told that we would need to apply for emergency Advanced Parole. The tier 2 officer scheduled an appointment next week in a field office that's close to us (we requested cause it's faster to go there than hopping on a flight to go to our parents'). The tier 2 officer told us that we would need to prove that there is a valid reason that we can't go to our local field office on the application. That reason can't be that we are traveling. We want to be able to travel back soon but we don't want to jeopardize our application. We have few options so far: Keep that appointment next week and explain the facts during the appointment the situation. Will this delay our application on the chance that they would transfer our application to a different office? Will they force us to change address on the application? Keep that appointment next week and gives a valid reason as to why we are not going to the local field office on the application. Cancel that appointment and try to reschedule to a local field office (in our parents' state) on a later day. Travel back to our parents'. something else What should we do?
