  1. The lawyer we had first wasn't good and gave bad advice, so we never knew we could fill that out before the embassy asked for it. But yes, we knew that after my removal, we needed a waiver, but he just said that marrying a citizen would basically "unban" me automatically. We trusted him because of our limited knowledge about immigration. Then we found out we could have filled it out when we were sending the I-130, but by then it was already too late.
  2. Hello, I was removed from the U.S. with a 5-year ban, and after my consular appointment, the consul requested that I apply for the I-212 waiver. My attorney submitted the I-212 form with all necessary details to the USCIS Nebraska office. At the time of submission, we were told the processing time was about 22 months. However, it has now been 18 months, and the official USCIS website shows that the processing time has increased to 32.5 months. My question is: Should I expect a response within the 32.5 months processing time, or is the original 22-month estimate still relevant?
