  1. What do you mean by that? As in for that kid who has an NTA soon to leave and re-enter through JFK?
  2. Where did you see/read/hear this?
  3. Just saw a failure on VJ last week. Someone got an NTA through Houston, despite ASKING and ASKING on here and everyone suggesting JFK. Some kid who'd been out for a while and starting a new job in Houston. And presumably even worse situation as he has likely aged out of a quick family-based process.
  4. It's not true that there is NO human interaction. You download the MPC app, and go through and there is minimal interaction with CBP. Certainly better than waiting hours in line, being tired and being asked questions by an officer in a booth. Sometimes the officer just stands at the end of the MPC line and scans, and waves you through. Depending on your financial resources, this is what I would do. 1) You buy parents round trip to Qatar - remember that you are NOT using the return portion - so you can make it a 1 week trip or whatever. 2) Book them a refundable hotel reservation in Qatar - remember they are going on vacation. 3) Once they are on that plane to Qatar - have them text you when on plane, you buy them the 1 way ticket to JFK. Don't risk any other airport. 4) YOU (I presume you are a US citizen) fly to Qatar to meet them there. 5) YOU return with them to JFK. You download the MPC too. And when you walk through the MPC line, you carefully put their passports inside YOUR US passport. Good luck.
  5. Interesting. What evidence is there of the war?
  6. Yes. They enter their green card info on Qatar airline’s website when checking in. The issue is Pakistan.
  7. Round trip to Qatar. 1 way to JFK. Get mobile passport control for your parents on their phones so they are taken to the front of the line and are fresh when talking to immigration officer. @Mike E, are you suggesting that people buy their one way from Doha to JFK after they leave Pakistan? Not to have the itinerary show up at the check in in Pakistan?
  8. Fantastic news. I would apply for global entry.
  9. We have a poster on here who DIY a pilot EB2-NIW recently.
  10. Which episode? I am hooked. Jim is so unbelievably earnest.
  11. Then we are back to getting CRBA in time for out of wedlock son.
  12. Yeah. But the wiser course would be to just have a son sponsor mom. And in the meantime, dad marries mom. And Sudanese law is relevant. Children of polygamous marriages in Sudan are legitimate. Something worth looking into.
  13. What a mess! And Jim is either obtuse or not familiar with children born out of wedlock to USC. 18yo boy called when he was 17 - was obvious that his father married his mother when his divorce had not gone through. Not sure why Jim did not steer him to try to get expedited CRBA or US passport as child of USC while under 18. And also why does Jim not advise them to at least file I130s for the sons while they are under 21. Now I am hooked on the show and feeling annoyed at Jim!
  14. Really? When were USCIS on reddit?
  15. @DrBiologist, time is of the essence. Email consulate now about dcf - which one is it? Wait to get response, should be a week or two. If they say no, proceed to file i130 (checking off consular processing). Proceed with lab visa. Be honest with consulate that you have i130 filed but you have picked consular processing. Other posters have received nonimmigrant visas. Worst case scenario, you have only i130 filed and you wait, if they deny the lab visa.
  16. It's not too late to file DCF. This can really speed things up. https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-6-part-b-chapter-3 The text is "Short notice of position relocation – A U.S. citizen petitioner, living and working abroad, has received a job offer in or reassignment to the United States with little notice for the required start date." What country are you in? Email the consulate right away. You have time - when is next semester? January. Your twins have CRBA?
  17. https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-w-7#:~:text=Use Form W-7 to,or that has already expired.
  18. Good. as @Mike E says, naturalize ASAP.
  19. 1) where is your spouse? 2) different address is fine. Just make sure you have a rock solid permanent mailing address.
  20. This will change every month. You have to check monthly as to which chart applies. You do know that you CANNOT leave the US now until you get advance parole, right? You have signaled your intent to adjust status. And you cannot file AP until you file i-485. Also, you checked the “adjustment of status” box on i-130 and left the consular processing section blank? How close is your husband to filing for naturalization?
  21. Yes, that is correct - you have to check monthly to see if you can use the "filing dates." I am not sure if your priority will be the date that you filed online - check your i-797 (the i-130 receipt) when it arrives. Any reason you waited? You could have filed both i-130 and i-485 together in August. Also, keep maintaining your F1 status. The issue now is if you fall OUT of status before your priority date becomes current. How much longer is your program of study? What does your i-94 say?
  22. Yes, but very often, the interviewing officer will ask to see copies of any submitted document. Even though they have it. You can of course, choose not to give him, he goes for the interview and is not asked. Or he goes, he is asked - he does not have and then you FedEx docs to him or embassy. Whatever makes you feel better.
