  1. Thank you - this is reassuring. They do have my US address and verified this in my interview, so I won't worry about it at this point! Appreciate your response.
  2. I just paid the $220 immigration fee online -- and they "strongly recommend" I change my address in the USCIS portal to ensure that I receive my green card. (They do have the correct address that I gave them at the time of interview...) I'm confused, though -- the USCIS account is under my husband's name as he is my petitioner... (which I can't seem to change) and it's asking for my A# and case #. But it's under HIS name. So it looks like HE'S the immigrant? Am I doing this wrong?
  3. I received an instruction sheet with my visa that says all I need is the visa/passport to cross the border. As appleblossom said, it states on the visa "IV DOCS IN CCD" so they have everything they need, already. You need to pay the $220 fee for your green card to USCIS (you can do so online), ideally before you cross. But that's it. There is no "packet" that I am aware of.
  4. I had passport and visa in hand 2 days after my interview... It was crazy quick! Good luck!
  5. It helps immensely! I was checking the wrong site! I just checked on the correct link you sent and it says ISSUED!!! SO happy. Thank you!!
  6. Where does the status of one's case show up on the site?
  7. Finished the most insanely quick and simple interview ever. The consular officer said that she planned to approve me BUT one of her systems was down and she couldn't officially approve until the system was back. And, that if when the system came up and they need anything else they will "let me know". Of course I asked for clarification because I am not clear on how I will know once I am official and she was unclear on how long it would take. She kept my passport and gave me a sheet on how to track my passport/visa. I asked questions but feel very unclear on how to know if I am officially approved? Will the CEAC site show this? Still kind of spinning.
  8. Still waiting. I have my interview scheduled, coming up in less than 2 weeks. If all goes well I'm hoping to be reunited soon after that! It's been a long process, but that being said, it took me awhile to get DQ'd because they decided to require a joint sponsor. (Probably added a month to six weeks to the timing). And, I did visited twice without any issues. I ensured that I had all documents that indicated I WAS returning, including: -Return flight ticket -Return shuttle ticket (from airport to home) -Letter from my employer indicating I am still employed here + most current paystub -Previous i-94 information indicating/proving that I have never overstayed my time limit Upon crossing the border both times I was only asked to see the return flight ticket. But you can never be too careful.
  9. Yes I've seen that link... Colour me stupid - but I don't even know what I'm looking at? Edited - I found the relevant info. Looking at it now. Thanks!
  10. Ha. Well, missed that part. I wonder if I can get my 18 bucks back.
  11. Well, too late. Bought and paid for. Any advice on the process here in Canada (RCMP)? That's where I see all the confusion.
  12. Oh .. I'm just going by the instructions that indicate police checks from "every country ever lived" or however it was phrased. LOL, I already paid my $18 and submitted my application. It can't hurt to have it done I suppose?
  13. This has been asked several times, I am sure, I've already searched and while some info is helpful, it's possibly dated so bear with me while I ask again. I am a Canadian citizen. I need background checks for both Canada & US (I have previously lived in the US, 15+ years ago). I am scheduled to have fingerprints done tomorrow morning at the Commissionaire's office in London Ontario. I want to ensure I'm getting the RIGHT sets -- For the RCMP I need "criminal record check for personal use under the Privacy Act" - correct? And for the FBI I chose "digital fingerprinting" with a print copy. The FBI online instructions look pretty straightforward but the RCMP site is confusing. Can anyone explain the steps once I have my fingerprints? I want to do this correctly, I have seen confusion and people getting denied based on providing the wrong information.
  14. Wanted to say CONGRATS!!! I just got back from seeing my husband (we got to spend our 20th anniversary together, yay) ... and now digging into all that needs to be done for phase 2. Hopefully this process is a lot quicker for all of us!
  15. Pretty much exactly my scenario! Kept refreshing and WOW a date changed? Curious... Status remained same and timeline still read "your case is taking longer blah blah".... But then the magic happened when I looked in my documents tab. Lo and behold there it was.... Soooo keep refreshing. It will be there shortly!
