Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time-Part 2
Texasbound1 replied to Blueeyes1989's topic in Canada
My medical appointment is with Dr. Zatzman. His office provided a vaccine form after the medical was booked. Under the COVID vaccine, it states that is must be within the last year -

Anyone know where I can find any answer to a Covid vaccine question on VJ? Had my latest Covid vaccine in May 2023 and the requirement for the medical exam is that it be received within 1 year of the exam. However, I have looked all over Mexico (where we currently live), the US and in Ontario but it seems everyone is waiting for the latest batch/version of the vaccine and I cannot find anywhere to actually get it. Would it be waived at the medical if the vaccine is not available? Of course, I will keep looking but all pharmacies are saying they will receive the latest version late summer/early fall which might fall after my September 9 medical date. Just trying to see where I get hear other stories or if anyone else is in the same position. -

My status changed to "in transit" after I received the interview letter. Then yesterday, after I had registered my courier services and interview, the status on CEAC changed to "ready". -

I am in the same situation waiting since January 2023. Also agree that the EB category adds the most benefit to the US and it should be prioritized more. The next batch of ILs cannot come soon enough. I have a lot of employment opportunities but am only missing one thing - my green card! -

Just noticed the spreadsheet is inaccurate again. My username no longer lines up to my dates. -

Based on what I have read on some other forums, ILs should go out for July in the next couple of days after the Montreal website update. Fingers crossed that EB will be included in this batch... -

Unlike family-based immigrant visas, which have had interview letters issued on an almost monthly basis, employment-based visas have been sent in batches. The bad part is obviously that it creates a delay on a month-to-month basis, but when the batch is finally sent, it will include people from a lot of months. Many of us will be part of the next batch! Just gotta be patient, live your life to the best knowing that the interview letter will come at anytime. We will all get there...to the American dream! -

EB 2 actually moved forward by two months. Seems like there have been a lot of EB3 given out and the quota is close to being met. -

I noticed that previously, interview letter go out shortly after the latest visa bulletins are issued. If they send out EB interview letters this month, it might follow the same pattern. -

Looks like someone played around with the tracking spreadsheet and now all the dates are wrong...please be careful. -

No issues at all. I have travelled to the US over 50 times since and so has my wife. She was once asked about her pending visa and answered in full without any problems. -

My priority date is April 18, 2022 and my DQ date is January 31, 2023. I hope to receive my interview letter in the next batch since the batch that was sent around April 17th included people DQ'd in December 2022 and the consulate in Montreal had a date of January 2023 for DQ of the majority of EB visa interview letters before they removed it. -

You should be fine to keep it in Canada as long as you have legal status. I also live in Mexico even though I applied on my Canadian passport. -

I think some people have seen their status change to "ready" a couple of days before receipt of their interview letters. -

You can login in here (https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/) under immigrant visa or use the Case Tracker app. I like the app as you get alerts about important topics and can pull down on your NVC case to get a quick check of your case. -

This is a great update and surprisingly better than I had expected. My DQ is January 31, 2023 so I should be in the next tranche of interview letters!! I will keep everyone posted for sure. -

All EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 petitions are based on future employment. You do not need to be employed at the time of adjudication but you must have the intent to be employed once you become an LPR. EB-1A or EB-2 NIW are not tied to a particular job offer but you must have the intent to work in the occupational field that your petition was based on. That means you don't need to have any job offer at the time of the interview but you at least have to try to look for work in your field after the GC is approved. -

This is interesting and I am also very interested in the experience of others. I will likely bring my entire set of documents that were submitted for approval of my EB2-NIW. The thing is though that supposedly the consulate is not supposed to re-adjudicate your case once it has been approved but I guess that is open to interpretation as to what re-adjudicate actually means. -

If you are older than 16 years of age: The original police certificate from your country of current residence, any countries where you lived for more than 12 months, and any country where you have been arrested. If you previously submitted a police certificate to NVC, it is more than one (1) year old, and you still live in that country, you must obtain and bring a more recent police certificate to your visa interview as the one you previously submitted will have expired. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/MTL - Montreal-6-13-2023.pdf -

I think you asked about this before. It is better to add children after an interview letter is received since it won't change your DQ date. If you added them before the interview letter, it may have pushed your DQ date out. Check the DQ date when you receive the regulare NVC email about progress which comes every couple of months for most people. -

When is your interview? I noticed some people were recently only given like a month notice and curious since I currently reside outside of Canada. -

February visa issuance is out. Pretty good numbers for E3 especially. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Immigrant-Statistics/MonthlyIVIssuances/FEBRUARY 2024 - IV Issuances by Post and Visa Class.pdf -

This is my understanding as well. This is just an administrative update but the dates are still as of February 15th. It is only when the "as of" date changes that the dates corresponding to each visa type are updated.
