    Thanks for your reply! So the place of birth on the certificate is Gyumri, Armenia and n the passport - Yerevan, Armenia. I don't know how this really happened. I guess either the original was completely wrong or the new version contains a mistake. And at this point the applicant is no longer in Armenia, but back in his country of residence and we were about to submit the DS-260s and the documents on the ceac website.

    Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately DS-260 online form only has the current country list. So I put in Armenia - the current name of the country that corresponds the location where my parents were born and raised. There is a little tip box that was helpful in identifying the right answer.

    Hello dear community, I am currently stuck in a pickle. We preparing the documents for the family immigration. The principal applicant's place of birth on the birth certificate (BC) doesn't match the one in the passport. How it happened: Applicant's original BC had a mistake in the parent's surname. As this parent is also the petitioner for family reunion we applied to fix this mistake. While the name was changed, the authority also updated the city of birth. Since all existing documents were based on the old BC they all have the original place of birth from the old document. Is this a big issue? Did someone experience a similar problem? What did you do? Thanks in advance!

    Hello, I am currently filing a DS-260 form for family-based immigration and having a bit of a trouble with one of the questions: "Do you hold or have you held any nationality other than the one you have indicated above?" The applicant was born in Armenia under the USSR. He had a Soviet passport. In the 90s he moved to Russia and updated to a Russian passport. No citizenship was ever renounced. Should this previous Soviet citizenship be noted in the answer? If so, what country? I am not sure if this Soviet citizenship should be "translated" into Russian or Armenian one. Would really love to hear some feedback and experience. Thank you!

    I really hoped to submit all the documents by the end of this year - as I have everything ready, the last piece was uploading the Joint Sponsor’s documents. Do you by any chance know if we should be able to use the existing docs signed in 2022 to continue the case? I hope they won’t require the new AOS with 2023 info

    I am having the exact same issue! I submitted the documents for the joint sponsor a week ago, on Dec 17, and still nothing. The added the name, but there's "N/A" under the "Affidavit of Support Documents & Financial Evidence." Contacted them the third time using the public inquiry form, as the first two answers were a complete miss. Here's the second reply I got from them: Thanks for the phone number! Will try calling them too, did they share anything about this?

    Dear all, I am preparing the documents for the family-based immigration. Currently we need to scan all of the sponsors’ financial documents and our civil documents. I heard a lot of info on the importance of choosing the right orientation (landscape/portrait) for docs. Can anyone share tips? Also, specifically for documents smaller than A4 format, like passport - should I crop the original scan to leave the document only (with all edges visible). Or is it ok to leave them against them in the original A4 format with a lot of white background. Thank you!
