  1. We used a lawyer for the original 130/485 package w/ form g-28 but we are not using them for ROC. Do we need notify USCIS in any way that they are no longer representing us? The directions on G28 say "USCIS, CBP, and ICE will recognize Form G-28 until the conclusion of the matter for which it is entered, unless otherwise notified." and "The original attorney or accredited representative of record will remain the attorney or accredited representative of record in this situation" I'm not sure if 751 is technically it's own "matter/situation" or considered part of the same "matter/situation" . If we do need to remove them, we just send USCIS a letter stating so, correct? And should that be sent to the lockbox or to our local field office (who wouldn't have our case yet)? Should the letter be included w/ the 751 package?
  2. Courthouse married, 1 witness, drinks at a bar after. That's it. Approved w/out interview. No wedding industrial complex...stuff. I wouldn't have gotten married if immigration required all that fanfare.
  3. We have a Chase visa and only my name is on statements. I included photocopies of both physical cards that show that the card # is the same, different names.
  4. The only thing our joint bank account is used for is to pay rent. We have a joint credit card that every shared item goes on (like groceries or dates), otherwise we pay for our own things on our own cards.
  5. Add the first MFS tax return w/ a note about why you did it that way instead of jointly
  6. You file all the forms in the guide, except for 130A.
  7. You would probably benefit from legal assistance as it seems this process is not easy enough for you to manage on your own. Your wife is currently out of status and subject to deportation.
  8. Look into Utah zoom marriage instead. It's simple and accepted by USCIS.
  9. Is your GF on a J-1 w/ a 2 year home requirement? You shouldn't make any plans yet until you have this answer.
  10. The US gov't knows you can't get divorced in the Philippines. Her Japanese divorce is legal.
  11. Can the bank w/ the joint account provide you something indicating that it is a joint account?
  12. Can you just send him money and he buy it himself to avoid any hiccups?
  13. Ask her to go. Odds are high that they will want to do the 751 interview at the same time. If she doesn't show, then you get put back in the queue and are waiting who knows how long.
  14. She has a 10 year ban to face for her overstay. She needs to leave now and serve it.
  15. We have a pre-nup and we did not include it. It's none of their business and it's not required.
