  1. Got the email from NVC, or USCIS with the approval letter instructions?
  2. What bad experiences? Also, will a WOM do anything if you’re still within the “normal” processing times of 15.5 months? I just wouldn’t want you to spend 6k if your approval is around the corner given you filed a month after me and are at the 15.5 months yet.
  3. Just got approved today!!! I think reaching out for a second time with my senator was the key!
  4. Nope, haven’t heard anything:( reached out to my senator and hopefully they will inquire this week.
  5. I reached out to my senator, and since I reached out to my congressman 46 days ago they said I need to wait until 60 days have passed before they inquire again. Which is probably for the best since then it will be outside the 15.5 months normal processing time. Rep was super nice, said once the 60 days have passed I can email her directly with an ROI and she’ll reach out for me. And thanks, it’s been really disheartening and I’m just needing this first part of the visa process over already:/
  6. Exactly! I know it’s technically within processing times, but the fact it’s never been under active review concerns me which is why I want to reach out again. If my senator can’t help, perhaps I’ll try to reach out to the department of state mid October after I’m out of the 15.5 month processing time.
  7. I also work in the mental health field, I’m a high school counselor! Dude same, I listen to sad things all day and give advice but I also can’t even follow it either. I am also so burnt out, and work has also been crazy with the amount of mental health we are dealing with atm. And it doesn’t help that I’m also burnt out with the visa process. Yes, to better days ahead, we deserve that!
  8. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it. I think I will reach out again. I have been able to handle my mental health with this process until the last few months, it’s really wearing on me.
  9. My PD is June 25th, 2023 for my standalone I-130 for my Canadian husband (I am a U.S. citizen). I have never been under active review, no one has touched my case since they received it in June of 2023. I reached out to my congressman a month ago, and they reached out to USCIS and got a canned response back. Now they have moved on to July cases and never have touched mine, despite it being a straightforward case. No criminal record, I was born in the US, plenty of in-person visits and interactions with my Husband both in the US and Canada. So: Do I reach out to my congressman again? Do I reach out to my senator now? Will reaching out hurt my case/processing times with USCIS? Do I wait reach out after 15.5 months have passed in mid October? Any advice or assurance would be appreciated, I just want to be with my Husband and the stress about not hearing anything yet is really effecting my mental health. TYIA
  10. Thanks for the update, I appreciate it! Yeah mine is a solid application and straight forward too, I already had my congressman reach out early August and they were given a canned response by uscis. I’m going to wait until I’m outside the 15.5 months of processing, and then write to my senator if I haven’t heard by then. Hopefully I hear before then as it is beginning to wear on my mental health 🙃
  11. I reached out to my congressman, they reached out on my behalf and USCIS gave a canned response about how it’s within processing time. So idk what else to do at this point:(
  12. Yeah I’m June 25th and haven’t heard anything either. I feel the same, all we can do is hang in there and try to live as much in the present as we can. One way or another we will hear something eventually.
  13. It started at Potomac, then I was told California, then I was told Texas service center.
  14. PD June 25th 2023. I haven’t heard anything by since NOA1, have been stuck on case received and no AR ever. Starting to get discouraged:( US citizen, Canadian spouse lives abroad.
  15. Any updates on June filers? PD date of June 25th, I’ve heard nothing since I applied.
  16. I called the USCIS customer service info specialist with my concerns about my letter and the mistake I had made on my I-129F. She said to send in a letter to the CSC, sign it at the bottom, include my receipt number, and explain the mistakes that need to be corrected. She said I could also explain the letter of circumstance that I realized the waiting times are longer and we will not get married June 2023, and we will once we obtain the visa.
  17. Thank you for the response! I did have signed statements we would get married in 90 days. I was looking over my application, and I noticed I had also made one other mistake; I had got confused and checked N/A, beneficiary is my spouse for item 51, asking if my fiancé is related to me. Would this be enough to deny my application?
  18. This is what I said specifically (should have included it in original post my bad) "We knew we wanted to get engaged in the summer of 2022, file the K1 Visa, get married in June of 2023, and then move to Colorado to begin our lives and careers together... ... Once we obtain our visa, our plans are to get married in June of 2023 an intimate ceremony with our immediate families and grandparents present....In 2024, we will host our reception for our family and friends; we want to wait until 2024 to do our reception because it would be too difficult to plan a big reception while waiting for a visa to be approved, thus why we are getting married in an intimate ceremony in 2023"
  19. Hi Everyone, I am in need of guidance. I filed my I-129F in August 2022, NOA1 August 12 2022. I added a letter about our circumstances of meeting to show we had met in person the past two years. He is from Canada, I live in the US. We see each other frequently. In this letter, I (stupidly, hindsight) wrote we were planning to get married June 2023. I did say "once we obtain the visa", but after reading other posts it makes me nervous they will assume we got married in June of 2023 and think we are "too married" and deny our K1. I wrote in there June 2023 because I had read that you need to have evidence that you are planning on getting married, but how are you supposed to even do that with the wait times changing? At the time of filing I was unaware the wait times were so long, so obviously we will not obtain the visa by June 2023. I am worried they will deny our visa because of this stupid mistake. We have no prior marriages, no criminal records, and are otherwise all set. So, I am trying to decide if I should 1. Just abandon the K1 process instead of waiting 6-7 more months for a NOA2 only to get denied and apply for the CR1, or 2. Just wait and hope that I said "once we obtain the visa, we plan to get married in 2023 in an intimate ceremony with family" will not affect our visa. And then if it does we will have to file CR1. So I either abandon the K1 and file CR1 now, wait and hope K1 goes through and it will, or wait for K1 to go through but it gets denied and then file for CR1. Please offer any advice you have, Dani
