  1. Hey cc, I think you commented on a previous thread of mine that moving to a border town is the only realistic possibility of being closer. We got married in last week. If we are going to file for the cr1 but potentially move how would that affect our process if at all?
  2. Are you saying that because I’m earning non usa income it won’t count as income?
  3. Ok thank you all for your thoughts. That’s kind of what I was afraid of. How much more would it complicate the process if we apply now but then both move to Canada where we can obtain a work visa and live together until the us visa is ready?
  4. If I move to Mexico to live with my wife after I have applied and submitted my sponsorship income stuff, will I later be disqualified if I have no income for the time living in Mexico? I have plenty to live off of for a while and my line of work would allow me to get another job almost immediately upon reentry.
  5. Well I don’t get married until the 22, Jan, hopefully that still holds true or at least potentially true
  6. So you can file both at the same time? Pardon, I’m still trying to figure all this out.
  7. Thanks everyone for your input, merry Christmas!
  8. She currently has no visa, is there any visa that allows entry or visiting that she could get in under a year? Student, work, tourist? All look to take around the same time as spouse/fiancé?
  9. Are they still issuing the k3 visas? My fiancé and I are getting married in January and will start the process of immigration. I’m from the USA she is from Mexico. Maybe I’m confused but does the k3 allow her to move here while waiting for a visa approval? What are the pro/cons of this vs the cr1? thanks all,
  10. She is from Durango. I’m looking at options for maybe staying there every other month trying to work remotely.
  11. This is inhumane. 2 years to bring your spouse into the country. I think we’re getting off topic but I appreciate everyone’s feedback. I agree the cr1 is the better option for her but we are both concerned with getting her here initially. Does anyone have some verified data on these times because the agencies are saying 6-9 months?
  12. I think that amount is only 22000. That shouldn’t be difficult. My employer has said they are open minded enough to let me work remotely.
  13. I’m mostly concerned with getting her here initially so she is out of Mexico. I appreciate your thought though Steve.
  14. I am actually considering that while we wait. Can anyone say if there are any issues filing for a cr1 from Mexico?
  15. 2 years seems like forever. I agree, I am trying to find the best solution for both of us.
  16. Thanks again Steve. Would an fbi fingerprint and background check serve as evidence along with stating the conviction. I’m almost certain it’s not going to show anything because it went through juvenile court.
  17. Trying to figure out what option is faster.. k1 cr1 (read here it’s almost 2 years!) open to any other thoughts or ideas. thanks:)
  18. Steve, if I disclose it what information are they going to want? I live in Colorado and it happened in Michigan.
  19. I am filling out my i129f and wanted to know if I need to include that I had a juvenile arrest that resulted in a misdemeanor. This was in 1993 and I was 13. Thanks everyone.
