  1. I’m getting ready to file our K3, we have already filed the 130. Wondering if it’s OK if I submit a copy of our marriage certificate or if it Has to be an original.
  2. Ok thanks, is the next notice I receive the notice of nvc?
  3. Just wondering what a typical timeframe is for when I should expect to receive my noa1. We received the notice of receipt mar 28. Not sure what I would even search this forum for, looking for this answer so thank you for any responses.
  4. Correct. I wouldn’t need much from it. But yes I’d take what netted over the required amount.
  5. @pushbrk ok thanks. I’d have to liquidate some before that then and pay the penalties. I received our notice of receipt but not the online number yet. This is sort of a secondary thought. Just trying to understand our options.
  6. @pushbrk Does that exclude any retirement assets? And thank you for replying.
  7. @pushbrk Hey Pushbrk, you’ve helped me get all my stuff in order and I submitted our I-130. I just saw that they have an alternative option for income if you can show assets of 3 plus times the 125% pov level in lieu of income. Is this correct? We’re having a hell of a time trying to navigate two moves and a job. Thanks for any feedback. The reason for this question is if it is possible I might reconsider just moving to Mexico for the time being.
  8. Thanks. A large part of the reason for moving to Tijuana. We can be together in the mean time.
  9. thank you for the information. I think you may be confused on our situation. She lives in Mexico and is a citizen and resident of Mexico. I live in the USA. No one is overseas. I think my confusion was not knowing there was only one consulate for all of Mexico.
  10. Thanks @pushbrk so they are referring to maintaining my resident of the USA status. Understood.
  11. Ok thanks @Crazy Cat should I file the regular way since I have not moved yet?
  12. @pushbrk okay. So I’m still a bit perplexed on residency. I’m not doubting you, just making sure I understand correctly. Travel.state.gov faq: “Is Residence in the U.S. Required for the U.S. Sponsor? Yes. As a U.S. sponsor/petitioner, you must maintain your principal residence (also called domicile) in the United States, which is where you plan to live for the foreseeable future. Living in the United States is required for a U.S. sponsor to file the Affidavit of Support, with few exceptions. To learn more, review the Affidavit of Support (I-864 or I-864EZ) Instructions.” My plans are to live in Tijuana with my spouse. Will this be a problem? I will have a mailing address in the USA. But my “domicile” will be changing. I’m just looking for clarification as I’m about to make some very large life changes and want to be sure I have things correct. -thanks all
  13. @pushbrk Due to my circumstances of moving but not knowing where, is there a reason i wouldn’t be able to use my mothers address for mailing who can scan anything that arrives? Ups store doesn’t scan and if I get a box in Cali but don’t move, I can’t access it.
  14. @pushbrk ok I’m filling out the i130 form to be printed and mailed per advice. I have a few questions. 1. Part 2 Item 19 - part4 20 we were physically married in Mexico, but via Utah officiant and Utah marriage license. Do I put Utah for both of us? 2. Part 4 : 62 can the consulate where the beneficiary will apply be changed later? Does she just choose the closest one? She is in Durango nearest to Mexico City but I imagine that one is very busy. Any recommendations? 3. For - ALL - blanks do I write in n/a? thanks
  15. Yeah I’ve seen that recently, where the online form was blank. Ok thanks for the advice.
  16. @pushbrk question. Looking over the guide here it states that the petitioner must live in the us. Our plan is to file then live together in Tijuana where I can work in the us but still live with her there. Is that not an option or am I confused again?
  17. Correct, filing online. No I haven’t seen any instructions from the online form. Just that on the page I referenced. I know we talked about virtual mailboxes before for my mailing address. I need a virtual mailbox that will scan my mail and that is reputable, ups store doesn’t seem to offer this service from what I can tell. I’m also not super clear if I’m supposed to file the i130a online or mail that in because I haven’t made it that far. Am I correct in understanding that because my spouse is in Mexico I can fill the form without her needing to sign it?
  18. I got it from https://www.uscis.gov/i-130 trying to use the actual website to determine what I need to submit. Near the bottom, expand “required evidence” the 129 came up because I thought your wording came from the instructions for its evidence which I was already familiar with.
  19. @LemonsliceOk I think I get it here. I respond with any sort of correction and I get “good luck”. You stated “since the op doesn’t seem to want to share financial stuff with their wife…” which is completely false. And I corrected.. You respond with “good luck”
