  1. Are you saying I need to prove where I’ve lived for the past 5 years? i Have a lease where I’m at now, I had a lease for 4 years in Colorado. I have tax records showing I worked for companies in the USA for the past 9 years, 2018-2022 for defense contractors and was self employed with state licensing for 12 years before that, my passport was issued in 2015. Is that not enough?
  2. I’m not sure I understand why this question of where my physical presence has been. I’ve lived in the U.S. my entire life. Is there something I’m missing?
  3. I want to thank everyone for their contributions. Even you mike e, while we differ in some thoughts - I still value input and can make decisions which may not be what you would do. My wife does not speak or read English very well so she is not on here. She is learning in the interim.
  4. Ok thank you for this info. Yes the child will be a U.S. citizen by my rights (I am a U.S. born citizen. would it be wise to have her police clearances already done? We need one for Durango annd one for Tijuana. Then need to get them translated, correct? Even if they expire, we can just get a new one.
  5. Is there a way to add the child to the application once he is born instead of waiting to add him at the interview.
  6. Yeah, I work in san diego, have a passport, bc. I see proof of pregnancy on there... Can you apply before the child is born?
  7. As I’ve read after both of those come back I can file for ssn. Tj mex, does appear to have online application available so applying will be easy.
  8. Yes I understand, I was meaning more in general (all as soon as he is born). Sorry for the confusion. what evidence are they looking for?
  9. Actually I saw your timeline in someone’s post a few weeks back and got really excited when vj and gov site also say the same time frame. I hadn’t considered interview scheduling would be that ridiculous. Thank you for your info. Apparently I only thought I was prepared for 2 years because after seeing that news yesterday my heart sank quite a bit.
  10. Ok I stand corrected. Thank you for this info. What I read on the .gov site was saying that the crba is not required for entry. Either way, I will be applying for both plus ssn all at the same time.
  11. I think a year will be plenty of time to get a passport. Even if the crba is slow, it’s not required to enter the USA
  12. Thanks pushbrk. I forgot about filing the k3 to try to speed things up so I’m just getting that done. Anything I can or should do in the mean time to speed up anything?
  13. Do they have an appt cancellation scanner for openings?
  14. That’s honestly great to hear! We’re mentally and emotionally and physically prepared for a 2 year process but obviously hoping for less. This border living is rough commute. Luckily I’m only doing it once a week. It’s 3 hours each direction.
  15. Let’s hope not but I suppose it’s possible. I started walking at 6 months. But we’re hoping for the 6-9 month mark from now. We want to get her out of Tijuana asap.
  16. Doesn’t she have 6 months to enter? The passport for the child won’t take long. And I’ll be applying for the crba as soon as he is born. It would be a nice surprise if the visa came before February but it’s doubtful. We applied March 24th 2023. That should give us plenty of buffer to get all these logistics squared up. Maybe I’m missing something - if so please say so.
  17. Visajourney estimates end of February (not sure if this is for everything or just the I-130 approval to send to nvc) and the uscis says 8 months (so may). Thanks Mike
  18. We’re not at the nvc stage yet so I would just complete the first i864 with the child, correct?
  19. I am the petitioner (U.S. citizen), my wife is Mexican. Our son is expected to be born in February. This is around the time frame of our estimate for i130 approval. questions: 1. Does the baby need to be added at interview or simply obtain a passport for him since he will be a U.S. citizen at birth by my right? 2. Will nvc require my wife to insurance have health insurance at the time of entry? Open enrollment is coming up so I would need to add her now. 3. any other thoughts I’m sure I haven’t thought of with a newborn.. thank you all
