  1. The 90s!! All of the Nickelodeon cartoons (Wild Thornberries, Rugrats, Doug, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Kenan and Kel - I was obsessed with all of them! I will say I'm more of a late 90s, early 2000s person as I love the music too that came then - hook me up with some Backstreet Boys any day. Also, the clothes were fabulous . Somehow, looking back, everything seemed so much simpler then - of course I was in junior high/ high school at the time so I didn't have to be an adult yet LOL
  2. Thank you so much for clarifying! I appreciate it!
  3. Thank you! When you say yes - does that mean yes I can apply for the travel auth at a later date or yes, it will affect AOS processing if I opt to not reapply for it right now? Also, do you know if I have to resubmit all of the supporting docs again (i.e. - passport sized photos, I-94, etc.) when I send the application back or do I just send the application plus to money? Sorry - I read into things a lot and just second guess everything I do.
  4. Hello - I am in the process of applying for my husband's AOS and I got both the I-131 and I-765 returned back to me for insufficient fees - apparently I didn't pay for them as I misread everything and thought the fees were included in the $1440 I paid for sending off all the AOS packet. Now I see some blurb that states this rule changed for requests submitted after 4/1/24 - so there's that. More mad at myself I didn't see this blurb the million times I read all these USCIS fees and required docs. Anyway - I digress... Now I've gone online to find what the fees are I need to pay and I can't decide which category he falls under and I'm afraid to either pay too much or too little - because either way they'll deny the request again and I want to make sure I'm reading them right. Is he considered general filing for $470 online or do i send the $260 since his I-485 is still pending? Sorry if that's a goofy question I'm just second guessing myself. Also, can I just let the request for the travel application expire for now and reapply at a later date? Will that affect anything w/ the AOS processing? Thank you all for support.
  5. Thank you all - I appreciate you taking the time to help calm me a bit - gotta love the government processing times for this down to drivers license processing (yes, currently dealing with that wait time too lol)
  6. Thank you so much - I feel better - just was afraid I did something wrong. I guess I'll continue waiting! Thank you!
  7. Hello, /I recently married my Peruvian husband on 7/26/24 and I filed the entire AOS packet on 7/28/24. Per directions - I was to send it to the lockbox in Elgin, IL, which I did. I saw on USPS tracking that the lockbox received the packet 3 days later on 7/31 and since then, I have not received any correspondence. Nothing in the mail, no email notices like I had asked. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I being impatient and just need to wait for something? Unless I'm reading the processing times table incorrectly, I feel like I should have had something by now. Has anyone else experienced this? What do I do? Thank you!
  8. Thank you so much this helped a lot! It was truly the only question I was stumped on.
  9. Hello! I'm trying to get the I-131 form filled out as it says everywhere I should have my foreign spouse apply for it, however, I believe he'd have to apply for the Advance Parole as he'd still be in the AOS period when we submit it. I'm confused on what I have to put on the "intended travel date" section as it says I need to have that and prove what illnesses, family emergencies, etc. warrant this approval. He doesn't have any medical issues and his family is fine - but we'd like to have permission to leave the US for the next two years if something were to pop up that was an emergency. Since nothing truly warrants it - should I not do the document right now? Any guidance on how in the world to fill this form out is helpful - I'm not sure why it's tripping me up so much, but it is. Maybe because it's the last one in this giant AOS packet and my brain is fried🤒
  10. Thank you! That is what I was wanting to do because I feel it's ridiculous to seek out someone to translate something I can easily do - I just wanted to see if someone else more recently did this. Appreciate it!
  11. Hello! I've seen some conflicting information and am hopeful someone can give me some guidance on their experiences with the following: - I am doing an adjustment of status and I need to have my fiancé's birth certificate translated from Spanish to English. I am fluent in both languages and feel that I can confidently do the translation myself. Is that acceptable for the AOS or do I need to have an unbiased party do the translation? Does anyone have any templates they've used when doing the translation? Is it just typing out what the certificate says on a word doc (down to the stamps)? Thank you!
