  1. Hi everyone, I'm already in the US. My husband did not have 3 tax years of work from IRS due to doing Masters, so we needed a joint sponsor. We asked one of the relatives to be a joint sponsor just for paperwork. They had been working steadily and could show the last 3 years of filing taxes, making like 70k. In reality my husband made over 65k at that time. After we came to the US, I got a job and rn make over 100k myself. So we definitely do not need a sponsor in reality as we combined make over 180k Now, that joint sponsor is under investigation and we started to wonder how this will affect us if any at all. Is there even a possibility to drop the joint sponsor under the given circumstances? Would i need their info or anything down the line when I apply for naturalization too? I understand the government asks for sponsors to ensure that I'm not a burden in the beginning before i gained employment.
