  1. Amazing that we finally got the IR5 appointment in Almaty, Kaz and documents are scheduled for 'pick up' - do we know how many days that is?
  2. Our case is US Citizen sponsoring mother from Russia for Green Card. Our case approved, but we cannot get interview. Moscow embassy is closed. Russians not allowed in Poland. Mom had to get official documents like marriage certificate police certificate, how long are they good for? Because it took so long to transfer to Kaz, and I'm not sure if we can even get an appointment, but are the docs still good? It seems like no one can answer.
  3. It's still showing Warsaw, although support @ us travel docs said it's updated to Kaz. Does it take 2 weeks for the government computers to reboot?
  4. I haven't seen this, however, we already requested the transfer to Almaty - thanks for the intel. They said they changed it, but it didn't immediately reflect in the portal.
  5. The bs "War" in Ukraine is really making a mess of our plans. We got through k1 and now Wifey is US Citizen and we sponsored her mom in Russia for Green Card, it was approved, she is our only relative we will sponsor and she hasn't been to US in 3 years due to COVID to see her grandkid, anyway- Interview is in Poland, she needs Shengen Visa I don't even know where to apply, the ivisa.com site looks sketchy and the embassy sites are not helpful. Polish embassy is open in Moscow so that's good, but there are articles about being blocked https://notesfrompoland.com/2022/09/19/poland-and-baltic-states-enact-eu-visa-ben-for-russians/ Please help, we need Schengen to go to Poland for interview, from Russia.. A visa is required to travel to Poland but iVisa cannot provide it at this time.
  6. Check the requirements, it's always better to be overprepared. For my K1, we collected tons of documents and got signatures we never needed or used. We had friends that didn't have one thing and it delayed everything by years.
  7. Found this useful, https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/glossary.html#P
  8. My wife became a US Citizen last year and sponsored her mom for a Visa, it was approved - we are now at ds 260 / interview stage. Who is the petitioner? I'm assuming my wife is? Or is it the mother in law - because she is petitioning the government for the visa? It's a little confusing.
  9. We have a panic, because we got the mother in law approved for green card - and we were uploading documents before interview. We were waiting for police certificate which was not easy during Russian Christmas (people drinking). We have it now. But it says our application not found! It hasn't been 90 days, we got notice early November. We are with NVC and they don't have a phone anymore, we emailed them. Help!
  10. Based on the "William Gloria" I'm guessing this is from Nigeria. Google Nigerian scams they are the experts.
  11. Wifey and I are sponsoring Russian Mom for green card, everything approved and now we have interview in Warsaw, Poland (Russian embassy is closed). They say to bring original documents, but do they mean only the beneficiary original or petitioner too? Are we going to have to fedex our original marriage certificate, which is anyway a certified copy? Or she can just print it? You MUST bring all of your original documents (not a photocopy) to your interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
  12. Another question - it says Remember: You MUST bring all of your original documents to your interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate so that a consular officer can compare them to the submitted electronic documents. If you do not bring the originals, you will delay processing of your application. But the interview is with our foreign Grandma - Not the petitioner, are we to mail original birth certificate, marriage certificate, that she brings it? Seems weird.
  13. We did a K1 and now we are both US Citizens, we sponsored Russian Mom to come here and it's approved (she will interview in Poland). What kind of interview can we expect? Her English is basic at best, she has visited for 6 months at a time.
