Physician Medical Exam in Singapore cant be reached
AP_since_May2023 replied to bellez214's topic in Asia: East and Pacific
Assuming your wife is between the ages of 18 - 64 years, here are the vaccines / proof of immunity needed: Tdap/Td (every 10 years) Measles, Mumps, Rubella Hepatitis B COVID-19 ("fully vaccinated"; no boosters needed) Influenza (yearly) -

Apparently its only Gonorrhea/Chlamydia that is required for age 18-24. Syphilis is required for all ages. The staff had it reversed. Syphilis is also the cheaper one. Gonorrhea is much more expensive because it is a PCR test. Yes, I had proof of TDaP vaccine (within last 10 years) and Varicella immunity (IgG; valid for lifetime), so didn't need to pay for those. -

Yes, I would try that! And try different locations. I'm sure one of them will empathize with you and allow it -

I think Singapore is quite accommodating to folks in difficult/unfortunate situations such as yours, so might be worthwhile reaching out to SPD to expedite the process in that case. -

OMG. I'm so sorry to hear that. That is so frustrating. I assume your wife is a non-Singaporean? So she will have to appeal for a COC then have fingerprints recorded etc? Otherwise, if she is a Singaporean, then the Police Certificate takes less than 1 week if I recall correctly. Do you know what the 221g process entails? Once she obtains her SG Police Certificate, will you have to attend another interview or will they just issue the visa and "packet" immediately? Will they hold onto your passports in the interim so you can't travel? -

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry to hear that. I thought police certificates are valid for 2 years from issue? This excerpt is taken from the NVC Website: "Important: Police certificates expire after two years, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued." -

Hello, how did your interview go? We just had our medical today and the physician (Dr. Chew) and staff were all very pleasant. We paid $500.04 each ($330 for Medical, $116 for CXR, $17 for Syphilis (VDRL), $37.04 GST). Was told it would take around 2-3 days for VDRL to be processed. -

Idk if things have sped up since, but it took 5 months from DQ to IL for me, and 6 months from DQ to Interview. EB2. -
I think those who receive their IL within 1 month are usually Family-based petitions, not EB petitions. But please keep us updated if/when you do receive your IL.

It took me 6 months after DQ to receive my IL, and 7 months for Interview. I am EB2.

Thank you both for confirming that. So maybe that's the reason why the Singapore Consulate told me that they can only confirm my appointment after they have received the Medical Examination. Are you able to share some of the interview questions? I am EB2, so I expect that they will be asking me about my employment history and qualifications etc. but not sure what else they would ask. Did they ask your spouse any questions? My spouse is a bit nervous and wants to prepare for the interview. -

Huge Congrats!! Do you recall what time your status on USTravelDocs changed to "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery"? 2 business days is all we can afford because our interview is on Wednesday morning, and we fly out Sunday. So hopefully the officers processing our case will understand our situation. Thankfully it seems like for most people it is roughly the next business day whereby they can collect their passport from Aramex at People's Park. -

@Jin Lee Sin @FJT @MJ21 Did you receive this letter/notification from the Singapore Consulate informing you what to bring? If yes, how many days in advance of your interview did you receive it? Is it only distributed after the medical exam is received by the Singapore Consulate? I received this from a friend who went for their interview last year. They told that they received this one day before their interview, so was panicking to gather the documents. -

Huge congrats @FJT! And thanks for sharing. May I ask which additional documents did they request for, in addition to the list that was provided on NVC Website? I emailed the Singapore Consulate to confirm my appointment on May 10th as scheduled, but they said that they can only confirm appointments AFTER they have received our medical report? I dont know if the person responding to my emails is just sick of me bothering them lol -

I'm glad you were unaffected by the retrogressions. Seems like another retrogression is planned for many EB categories in May 2023 Bulletin. Yes, I got my IL on March 31, for May 10th. Singapore is reporting a significant rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, so I wonder if this is the cause of the manpower shortage. If it is, then I suspect that things will continue to worsen in the weeks to come... -

Have you already flown from Canada to Singapore? What is your priority date? Do you think your case was rescheduled due to recent F2A retrogressions? My interview is scheduled for May 10th and haven't been notified about any rescheduling. -

To add onto the above costs, if between the ages of 18-24, Syphilis testing is needed and this will cost $202 SGD + GST. -

I emailed the Consulate and was told that it takes approximately 1 week for them to return the passport after the interview. For those of you with past experience though, do you know how long it actually took? I'm hoping to book my return flight 4 days after (2 business days, 2 weekends) but not sure if this is too tight. -
