  1. Any idea why some applicants wait a short while (<3 months) while others wait almost 1 year despite both receiving DS-5535? Anyone receive DS-5535 despite not having any relations to MENA countries/heritage?
  2. Yes, indeed. It is frustrating considering that many of us have been waiting since forever. In my case, I had already submitted an Adjustment of Status application before receiving my Consulate Interview. So I withdrew my AOS ($3000 gone), booked airfare and hotel (another $5000) only to receive AP. If I had stuck to AOS, I will likely have my EAD + AP, possibly even GC by now.
  3. This process has been so expensive. WoM + another medical. I wonder if anyone has done a small claims to retrieve some of these costs. Why can't they just extend the medical to 2 years (like i-485 AOS applications they are valid for 2 years)?
  4. Did you get an email from the Consulate requesting for information similar to DS-5535? I didn't receive a DS-5535 form to complete either. However, I did get an email from the Consular Officer asking about my siblings, children, past passport numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses (no mention of social media handles)
  5. Does the number of updates matter? I had almost daily updates after my interview x 1 week, then radio silence for 2 weeks until I had congressman follow-up. For June 5 & 6 updates, did you and/or Congressman contact the Consulate to request a status update? Interesting that you filed WoM earlier than Farzady but you still haven't heard back yet.
  6. Congratulations! How long did it take the Consulate to issue the visa after receiving your passport? So to clarify, your timeline is as follows? - Consulate interview: Feb 24 (T = 0) - Filed WoM: May 3 (T = 69 days) - Court update: May 19 (T = 85 days) - CEAC case update: May 25 (T = 91 days) - Email to send Passport: May 30 (T = 96 days) - Visa Issued: June 6 (T = 101 days)
  7. I encountered a similar problem as you, but this is at the Singapore Consulate. They approved me verbally and kept my passport, but after a few hours I received another email stating that my case is in AP.
  8. Unfortunately no news and my case remains in AP. I think the Singapore Consulate for Immigrant Visas only work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  9. Update: Apparently my case went into full on administrative processing, so even if my medical report had gone through smoothly, my case would still not be able to proceed. Nothing else I can do at this point, but to return to USA and plan a return another day when my AP is finally done. Not sure about the reason for AP. I am not of Middle Eastern nor Muslim background. But my spouse and I did visit Cuba a few times for all-inclusive vacation, so we can't help but wonder if this is the cause of AP. Will continue to share updates in our case.
  10. Can you share what was the cause of your 221G? Did they keep your passport at the interview, or did you send it in with the additional document? In my case, my medicals were missing due to a technical glitch in their system. Did you check your CEAC status online or did you just keep checking USTravelDocs?
  11. We were on IMC’s case as well and they reassured us that all documents were submitted last Friday. Only to find out that the Consulate hadn’t received my medical (they only received my wife’s). We have been in contact with both the Consulate officer and IMC Camden, and apparently there is nothing else that we can do besides wait for DC to resolve the issue. I had asked IMC Camden to resubmit the medical, but they are under strict orders by the Consulate not to resubmit… It’s really frustrating, because we have literally done everything in our power, only to encounter a technical glitch in their system… My flight is scheduled for Sunday and I’m scheduled to work on Monday, so I’m praying that DC comes through tonight…
  12. We had our medical exams done 8 calendar days ago. My wife's medical was sent to US Consulate without issues, but mine had a "technical issue" in which they were unable to see my vaccination records on their electronic file (even though the physician had already sent it).
  13. We had our interview today and unfortunately were issued 221G due to a technical error in the medicals not being transmitted from IMC Camden to the US Embassy. Did anyone else encounter a similar issue and how long would it take to be resolved?
  14. Just wanted to update that we received this letter from the Singapore Consulate on the same day that our physician from IMC Camden sent the medical report to them. Hope this helps future folks.
  15. Congrats! How long does it take to receive the report after the fingerprinting?
  16. Yes knew I was missing something. Pock marks will not suffice unfortunately. Tdap/Td (every 10 years) Measles, Mumps, Rubella Varicella Hepatitis B COVID-19 ("fully vaccinated"; no boosters needed) Influenza (yearly) I took the flu vaccine because I was DQ'ed in October. I also didn't want to risk any delays in the processing of my case over a single shot.
