  1. the labels were supplied by Sherpr. They decided to change one big order into two. So the numbering restarts from 1. The 20 boxes that are in clearance are in Laramie which is my boyfriend's town. I have the tracking number only tells me what I just said and nothing else.
  2. Morning! we are leaving on the 13th June and I have two burning questions. one, I am flying to the USA through Iceland. So that huge package with the visa stuff is to be given at Heathrow, or in Iceland when I am flying to the USA? second question, I had 40 boxes of my own belongings sent through Sherpr who then uses Fed ex. Due to lack of space in the van, when collecting boxes, they collected 20 one day and 20 the day after. the first twenty boxes are delivered, but the second lot arrived and got stuck at the final city of my boyfriend, and all we know after hundreds of calls, emails etc is that they are delayed, stuck at clearance, but we don’t know why. when I tried to call Fed ex at their number it days I don’t have permission to access that number. I am not registered with them. mh delivery people, Sherpr, have been unable to find out why the goods are not moving. i think it’s because the master box which has the complete list of all 40 boxes has been delivered the day before. So now they are looking for the master box of the other 20 but of course it doesn’t exist. i resent the list just for the second lot, to my delivery people and to Fed ex, and I heard nothing is there any way of going to the Laramie Wyoming depot which is in a secret location and just tell them what is going on? It’s easier to get on a call with the Prince! getting frustrated ….. thanks
  3. Thank you. I took all my lenses out and they will be in my hold luggage. Repacked my older full frame camera inside a strong plastic box you could sit on without breaking it. I only have costume jewellery and nothing of worth, they will see I am all about fashion, sewing and art. Hopefully it will all arrive in one piece!
  4. Wow this is totally different from what I read and I was told from everyone. in my understanding, as a holder of the K1 visa I can bring even my entire house. I am only sending personal documents, clothes and photography equipment and all of it is years old. The company I am using, is using Fed EX to then deliver locally to my fiancée home, a week before my arrival. We are not told to go anywhere to collect and to show anything as all the forms are done online. I have receipts for my camera equipment. The rest is worth nothing for anyone else but myself. I dearly hope I won’t end up paying customs on ten year old cameras…
  5. I am now thinking that the limit has been set because I set a low limit for the insurance up to £250 of value, as I didn’t want to spend £££ on insurance
  6. Hi there, I don't know which forum is correct for my question, so pleas Admin be kind with me. I have all sorted, tickets, VISA etc and now dealing with a company that will send via airplane a few boxes of my personal belongings. I have many questions but one is this, I am listing now box number 6 and I get this message 'Please ensure that your items do not exceed £850.00' This happened after listing two camera lenses and valuing them £200. So now I am blocked and every time I send a question to my sending agents it takes 30 minutes or more to get a reply so I am wasting so much time. Also, many items are not coming up in the dropdown list. Say, bike seat/saddle. Not there. Bike lights. Nothing. Contact lens liquid - not there. And the agent confirmed that I can send up to 100ml of liquid (after checking with managers) but then another lady at the same office said, that all liquids are prohibited. I mean, what am I supposed to do? It's 12$ for a bottle of contact lens cleaner at Walmart while I get 3 for a fiver here...so I was trying to bring 1000 ml spread over 40 boxes. Such a waste of time...any suggestions? They don't have things like random art materials, wire for craft, nothing.
  7. Hi! I just got my VISA 2 weeks ago, bought my tickets and chose a courier to go via air, which turned out to be half of the price of shipping with Sevenseas Worldwide. I phoned many companies, got lots of quotes, checked every Trust Pilot review and came out with two companies I thought were the best and cheapest. I then told one company that the other was offering a cheaper price and they reduce theirs. I am now all paid and ready to upload the dreadful custom form - the codes are NOT requested. There is a drop down menu where you start writing name of items and something appears and you just click on 'book' or' shoes' etc and click on the number and value. I am using SHERPR.com and so far really happy, but the custom form is tough and unclear (as for everyone) from my notes: Trust Pilot reviews: Great, except when FEDEX works with them and makes a mess. (Not often) https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.sherpr.com?page=2 Transport method: Standard service - Estimated transit time: 4-7 working days Quote 20 boxes, dimensions 53cm x 53cm x 31cm (max weight: 20kgs/box) £2,045 - $2555 Price per box: 102.28 revised to £98,15 per box all included after competition with Deliver 1. Other details: insurance included up to $100 (20% deductible), but boxes NOT included. Also, the poster of this thread has done a magnificent job to describe the process. BUT be careful not to order boxes from Amazon from the company suggested here as I did (trusting the poster and reviews) and they are SUPER flimsy, and one broke the handle immediately, so I reported them for scam and got a full refund. I then went local and bought double wall proper sturdy boxes from a place I can trust.
  8. yes the visa arrived after a week! Now fighting with the custom forms in the removal company site!
  9. So true, my boyfriend says it’s only a silly admin term. In the instructions they never say to bring the documents of your fiancée. Yey say, if YOU have been divorced or widow, being the documents. It never stated anywhere in the entire website, if your fiancée has been…then bring his documents. He sent his papers in March and they have not arrived here yet, so he sent them again with a 93 dollar cost for immediate delivery and that’s what we provided…..
  10. Thank you! Yes, the status is ‘send documents’. But in their site it days it takes two to five days to make that decision…gosh I am so freaking out it’s unbelievable, I can’t exchange contracts for my property, send my belongings or book tickets as we are having to this decision! Wha ha ha , not funny at all 😂😎😏
  11. Hello there, so we had our embassy interview on March 13th and the officer said she has no concern regarding the relationship, but I needed to provide a divorce certificate and a death certificate on behalf of my fiancée. They also asked for the original, and not a certified copy, of those documents. So we were approved pending the receiving of the docs, but on paper it says refused. so I diligently got all those documents, took me over two months, and the courier finally delivered them in a week, and not in a day, and I know they were at the embassy on Wednesday. The divorce decree is actually a certified copy, made by the court as they do not rss originals. The rest is original. anyway this morning I check my status online, which was previously as ‘send documents’ and ‘refused’. now I saw that it was updated yesterday, still refused, and it indicates the documents have been received. i am freaking out. Surely after receiving the documents they should just get on and approve this? and I cannot contact anyone to ask questions, all I get is generic copy and paste type replies after a week, totally useless. how and when will I know what’s going on? thanks!
  12. exactly. I spent the entire week writing to the embassy and DX and I am still not getting any reply that helps. It's unbelievable. This is what I got from them: Dear applicant, Please follow the steps below: Guess what, when I go in, the word ACCESS does not exist anywhere and the applicant details do not show at all View Courier-in Receipt', So I cannot get there. In the DX site there is the passport exchange site and it has a 404 error message. If I open with a different browser it opens but it gives you NO INFO on how to do anything. disaster.
  13. Great point but of course all my emails are set to receive attachments etc and last night I did send an email to them asking to resend it.
  14. no! The email has no attachment and it's a 'no reply' email address. it says, 'The U.S. Department of State Consulate in London has requested that you send additional documents for your application. Please gather the documents listed below and generate a "Courier-In Authorization Certificate" by clicking the "View Courier-in receipt" button below. Include a copy of these instructions in the list of documents you send to the consulate.' Then you look and there is NO button! that's why I am confused!
  15. Very pleased for you! Me, I started sewing at age 12 as all trousers were too long and it became a good hobby, and I got trained too as a Tayloress, which was fun!
  16. That’s fhe problem, there is no barcode in the email! And there is a lot of text not in the same layout
  17. Yes and at the interview they told me to get three more documents, and to send them through the courier, which I will do as soon as the last two documents arrive from the USA. They have been in the post for 21 days….. next I was instructed to take the documents to the Norwich DX, with the printed instructions and they will securely deliver them to London. Hope it makes sense!
  18. Thanks! Honestly until I spoke to the agent I had no idea! Lol I am 1,54 tall or 5:1 and I sew or modify all my clothes lol…..
  19. I wanted to thank you again for your help! DX eventually called me to clarify things and the second company is subcontracting for them, which is why their name appears in my invoice. The first time I went to the site to find the courier and register, a page opened and there was a message with bold text and possibly barcodes etc. Some was instruction. I was looking at the page while on Zoom with my boyfriend and I decided to read the text better later on. But just in case, I copied and paste the text in a document. The day after when I went back to the site the instruction page was gone and I can no longer get to it. All I have is the pasted text. I read it 100 times and I am not too sure of which part is 'the first page' as the initial formatting is gone. Is this the part I need to print? 20. I see! Do you think that they would call me to a big depot hundreds of miles away from the final destination,to ask where each garment comes from!?That would be interesting, lots of my clothes are old and many ….I actually made them. One is from my mum and dates 1963. 😂 should I then bring the photos in a digital form with me? Never heard of this but you never know and I cannot risk to leave my clothes here as my body shape and Size is of children….so nothing for adults fits me nicely. 😂
  21. Many thanks! Of course there will be no labels on my clothes. I am sending less than 20 due to the high prices! And I am planning to being familiar objects so we are not forgetting our Italian British background!
  22. many thanks! Could I ask another question as you have made it safely to the other side now? Yesterday I spent a long while asking questions to a rep from Seven Seas Worldwide. He said that 85% of packages are opened and inspected at arrival. Anything newer than 6 months in their view is seen as something to tax. He asked me to ensure I put only used clothes. That would be interesting for wedding clothes which by definition must be immaculate at arrival. Anyways, I am concerned about what can I send safely. I have two full frame cameras, one will fly with me, but the other and all the lenses and tripod will travel in my removal boxes. My tripod is 4 years old but looks new, I am probably adding my invoices inside but I am feeling worried about hidden charges if they think items are less than 6 months old (they are 100% not!). I also worry about vitamins and supplements, of which I have some 10 small boxes (you know, the monthly ones) and they ask to bring only prescription medication? Any suggestions would be great...thanks and I hope you are enjoying your new life there....
