After spending the whole day editing and writing this letter I logged into my USCIS account to download the denial letter I noticed they had approved my case!! There it was: Case denied on September 29 and Case approved on September 30! Guess they realized they had messed up before I told them so. 😂 Thanks again anyway, your letter would have helped a lot!

Hi @PGaffney! Just found your post because I'm going through a similar situation and loved that your application has been reopened and approved so quickly , would you mind sharing the content of your cover letter/brief (redacted) with me, please? I'm starting to work on my form I-290B and booking a new medical right now. Thanks in advance!!!

I booked my interview on March 16 and I know that before that people booked on February 20 and around December 15, so my guess is that they open dates on the third week of each month. It took me almost two weeks of checking the website before I was able to book, I believe you should see dates available next week - but keep checking this week too, you never know... I know it sucks to log in and see nothing, but don't give up, you're so close now! On the day I booked I checked at 9am and there was nothing, then at 3pm I decided to check again out of anxiety and there they were the available dates!! I almost fainted! 😂

Yes, right after I booked my interview I scheduled my medical for about a month before the that (they suggested that date based on my interview, that you need to provide in order to book your medical). I'm in Toronto and I haven't seen anyone having issues finding a good date, but I've read people sometimes have issues with the one in Montreal (it's harder to find a date that's not too close to their interview and they end up going to the interview without their medical having been sent there yet, which delays their approval in about one to two weeks). Where are you in Canada?

I believe this person doesn't know what they were talking about. From what I've noticed in the past few months they open 4 to 5 days per month for K1 interviews and when those appointments are taken we have to wait for 3 weeks or so for them to open new dates (for another month). So when you check the calendar it looks like there's nothing available at all but it's just because they haven't opened the new dates yet. In mid January people were able to book for early April after having received P4 rught before Christmas. In about 10 days all available dates (4 or 5) were gone. Then at the end of February they opened dates in early May, which were taken in about 2 weeks. Then in mid March (my case) they opened dates in early June and again they were soon all taken. I believe they should be opening dates for early July in the next couple of weeks. Keep checking the site every day and book (and pay) as soon as you see they have opened new dates.

Hi! When I received P4 there were no dates available for the interview. I had to wait for about 3 weeks until they opened new dates (I booked on March 16th for the interview on June 1st). From what I noticed in the past few months they seem to open new dates around mid to end of each month.

I emailed them my Packet 3 as soon as our status turned to Ready, I guess I received the P3 letter in my mailbox about 2 weeks later, right around the time I was receiving P4 by email. It definitely saved me some time. Keep checking your status and the moment you're about to receive P4 the "case updated date" will change to current date (the status will still remain "Ready"). You should really hear from them pretty soon.

Hi @kardib, if you've already emailed them the P3 there's nothing else you can do right now but to wait for P4. I believe it took me almost 2 weeks to receive P4 after I emailed them my P3, you should be hearing from them soon. And hopefully they will have dates open so you can book your interview right away and don't have to wait for longer. Good luck!

Thank you! For you too! Let me know if you have any other questions.

No problem, I get you,! Too much (conflicting) information can be very confusing. I was concerned you were expecting the interview to be in Vancouver... You can wait for P3 (by mail) with the list of documents you need to email them (passport photo page, form DS-160, P3 checklist) or you can get ahead and send them an email with these as early as today if you want. I did this and skipped that P3 waiting period - probably up to 2-3 weeks. You can find the P3 content and instructions here: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf You will then receive P4 by email a few days later. Let me know if I can help you with anything else. I've already received P4 and booked my interview for June 1st.

Hi! The Ready means it your case has arrived at the consulate in Montreal (it may have shown "In Transit" before this). Your case will stay in Montreal, which is the only Consulate in Canada that processes K1 Visas. Are you aware that your interview will be in Montreal?
