  1. If interested, we sent everything back and it was received by USCIS on 3/4/2024. We just got approved - on April 2024!
  2. At last! We have finally been approved, just short of 2 years since filing. I logged into my USCIS account yesterday to read that our case was approved (no interview). Also, it now mentions that new cards have been ordered. We are over the moon!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Hello! Was looking for any experiences post pandemic, as processing times have increased so much. For context, on Feb 21st we received RFE's for medicals, as the medical we submitted in 2022 has expired. This was the first we heard since our AOS case (employment based) got transferred to the NBC in Nov 2022. We completed the medical (incl labs tests and additional vaccinations) on March 2nd and have send it by FEDEX to the field office, to arrive on 3/6/2024. I am really hoping we hear back soon, so if anyone has some experiences with this, please feel free to share. The field office processing the RFE will be Albuquerque. Thank you!
  4. Hello everyone! So last week we received letters from USCIS in the mail, asking for RFE of medicals. Big hooray! First news from USCIS since Nov 22. We (family of 5) all scrambled and got everything done in 1 week (Flu shots, extra vaccines and lab results) and just sent everything back to the filed office on Saturday. Fingers crossed that it won't be long now. #hopeful
  5. Hello everyone! I filed for a AOS ~20 months ago, from an L1-A visa. I am currently in the early stages of setting up a business (e-commerce), which I'll initially run next to my current job, as a side gig. I consulted a lawyer, to understand if there are any implications to my pending GC and the lawyer informed me that as my AOS request is tied to my L1A, I am fine to set up the company but I should not have revenue until I have the actual GC and should remain passive. She didn't get more into the specifics of what passive vs active was, and if active would just be making revenue. Here's where I am at: I have filed for an LLC and this has been set up I have completed my business plan (yes, I know that this changes all the time) and have done a ton of research I also have identified a number of wholesalers from where I'll source products from What I would like to start on is working on the website. For this, I will obviously need to invest money, but I will also need to get products, so I can take pictures. However, to obtain products, I need a business license and a reseller permit, because the products I need can't be purchased through normal channels. My concern is that filing for a business license and reseller permit can be considered active, even though I am obviously not going to be selling anything until I have my GC. Is there anyone here who may have some more information on this topic?
  6. Hi! I'm just crashing this party here as I am a May 2022 filer and was looking at some other cases with the same FO as I have. Also, I think the May AOS filers isn't getting much traction as a lot of people have received their GC by now (but not me). Where can I see the "MyProgress" tab? Mine just has this: Thanks very much!
  7. Hello everyone, First of all, happy new year! Not sure if this topic is still active as it seems a lot of people have had their GC approved and issued; congrats to you all. Unfortunately, we are still waiting and there has been 0 movement on our cases since our I-140 was approved (Oct 2022) and our I-485's were transferred to another office (Nov 2022). According to the lawyers I should look at the processing times for our field office (Seattle) for an indication, and in December 2023 the time was met for 80% of cases to be completed - just not ours. In December I reached out to our congresswoman to help with an enquiry and they got back to me within a few days with the answer from USCIS, which was their standard copy/paste response. In the meantime, someone I know with the same nationality and L1-A starting point, who filed 3 months after us, got their GC within 9 months. I don't really have a question, just wanted to come here as I am feeling sorry for myself and wonder if we will ever see this GC being approved. I know that 19.5 months doesn't seem long, but it is for someone who is keen to look for another internal job and was told 12 months ago the best thing now is to sit tight, it's been hard to remain patience. For those of you in a similar boat, may 2024 bring you all good health and good news from a green card perspective! C
  8. Hello everyone! I just logged onto my USCIS account and something's off. There is nothing underneath each case. Anyone else has the same issue?
  9. Hello everyone! So here we all are, (nearly) 1 year since filing your I-485 (employment based). On our side, we've had the I-140 approved as well as our EAD. We didn't file for AP, as we have an L1 and L2 status until Sept 2024. Since filing, our case and processing time moved as follows: May 2022: Nebraska, processing time 24 months May 2022: Nebraska, processing time 18.5 months Oct 2022 transfer to NBC: processing time unknown Feb 2023 transfer to Albuquerque: processing time 20 months Apr 2023 according to the agent I should select my local FO for processing time, which is currently 25.5 months (Seattle) So I guess (almost) 1 year down, 1 year to go.................. Any employment based adjustment I-485 filers who have had better success stories? I notice this group contains a lot of family based adjustments applicators, so was wondering if there is a difference in processing times between the two. Good luck to everyone out there and hang in there!
  10. @Hardship waiverThat's such amazing news, congratulations!
  11. Hello everyone, Is it just me or have the processing times gone up again? A few weeks Nebraska Service center was at 18 months, now it's at 25! Same for the field office we're at right now, went up to 25 as well! And the field office in our area is pretty much the same. Jeez Louise!
  12. That's awesome news @Edward_Jaqueline, congratulations! I hope you celebrated in style ;-) I have a question for you, if you don't mind.... How were you notified? Did you discover this yourself by checking your case online? Or did you receive an e-mail? Just curious! Thanks in advance! Caroline
  13. I hope you do get it sooner. Who knows, one day you'll wake up and check your lovely USCIS page and Poof! There it is, the words "We approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization " It might be sooner than you think! Hang in there
  14. Just got off the phone with "Emma" and I feel like it's really a hit or miss depending on who you talk to. Today's rep just summarized the status of my I-485 as shown in the USCIS, which is: November 1, 2022 Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction (this was NBC - I received the notice for this) October 31, 2022 Your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, was transferred to another office for processing. July 11, 2022 The fingerprints relating to your Form I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, were taken. June 2, 2022 We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Our Nebraska Service Center location is working on your case. I was really hoping to get an understanding of 2 things: which field office has my case now? Should we expect an interview or not? I called 6 weeks ago and the USCIS rep shared that my case went from NBC to Albuquerque. And the Rep I spoke to in November shared that they thought my GC would be approved in 4-5 months. Based on what - I don't know. Anyway, given all of this, I decided to try my luck and get an update today, to see if there would be any updates. The rep did not even share that my case was in Albuquerque and just told me to wait to receive notices. They also told me that in terms of processing times, as my case was tranferred to another office, I should check the processing time for my area (in my case, Seattle). Def a big increase vs where it was originally filed (Seattle 25 months vs Nebraska 18 months). Oh well........... I guess we'll just need to have a little bit more patience.......
  15. I hear you! I really do hope you'll get it sooner though...
  16. Hello everyone, I just got my EAD approved yesterday (3/7)! Big yay, at least some movement! Fingers crossed for the I-485, for everyone on here 💗
  17. I probably should not be complaining but I just want to vent my frustration.......... a colleague of mine just shared he filed (I-140, I-485, I-765 and AP) in Aug 2022 and he has his EAD and AP already. Another colleague he works with filed in August and has his GC approved already. Seems like both are ROW category, like me. Meanwhile my I-765 looks like this (see below) and my I-485 transferred from Nebraska --> NBC --> Albuquerque and with each transfer the processing time is significantly increasing. No question, just a moment to vent to others in a somewhat similar situation.
  18. Hello, we did our medical in Nov 2021 and our lawyer told us they were valid for either 2 or 4 years, I can't remember exactly. Are you sure it expired?
  19. Hello! Thought I would call USCIS today to enquire about my case and what do you know, there's been some movement! We filed (concurrent) for AOS (I-485) in May 2022 (ROW) to Nebraska Service Center, Biometrics were done in July 2022. Our I-140 was approved in October and on Nov 1st, our I-485 was transferred to the NBC. The USCIS rep told me that our case was transferred to the Albuquerque Field office on Feb 11th and they confirmed receipt yesterday, Feb 16th. I looked into the processing time of the Albuquerque field office and it's 21.5 months. A bit confused as Nebraska Service Center is showing 12.5 months (and was 18.5 months at the time of filing). This feels like a setback now, in terms of processing times. The other thing is that we live in Seattle, so not sure why this would go to Albuquerque. Anyone with a similar experience, in terms of field office not being in the same state as applicant? Thanks! Caroline & family
  20. Hello - we used a lawyer and have exactly the same. I don't know what the value would be to get a lawyer now, as it's just a waiting game. There is nothing a lawyer can do for you now, as far as I am aware.
  21. Weird, just logged on to USCIS and all of my cases are showing the following status. I guess the USCIS system is down? Is anyone else seeing this?
  22. Hello everyone, Great to see some of the May filers are getting their I-485 approved, congrats to all so far. Did you see the status change online or did you get an e-mail? I a masking because when our I-140 was approved, I just saw it when I checked my cases, I didn't receive an email about it. After a week or so I did however, receive the decision by snail mail too. Also, what was the status of your case before it changed to approve? Does it need to be "under review" first?. Thank you for any insights you can provide, appreciate it! Caroline
  23. I would call uscis today and ask this question. Congratulations on your approval! What a great start of 2023!
  24. @quinnscribeI really hope so for you! We all need some positive news this holiday season, even if it's someone else's good news 😉 Fingers crossed!
  25. Hello! My I-765 hasn't changed status since we did the biometrics (7/11). I would indeed try to get through Emma and say you lost your case number, in order to get someone on the phone. I did that about a month and a half ago, to enquire if my I-765 was still in the same location as where it was sent originally, as our I-485 got transferred to another office. They confirmed the I-765 was still at Nebraska and said it could take up to another 12 months. However, the person on the phone said the following on my I-485 (which was transferred to NBC): "I have an indicative timeline of 4-5 months". Just to say that it might be good to check both, as whichever comes first will enable your wife to work, right? My husband got his I-765 expedited through the congresswoman in the district of his company's office location) in California, so his has already been approved. Maybe going through a congress person could be an option for you? My husband's work got a lawyer to write the request, and they managed to get it approved within 3 weeks. Combination of great lawyer, his employer (Non-profit) and a congress woman with amazing connections did the trick. Unfortunately, our I-140 at the time wasn't approved yet, or she said mine could have been approved as well. Good luck!
