Our case status is now “Ready” but I can’t find any information on next steps or how long it will take for the embassy to reach out. Would appreciate any insights you could share!!

Hello there! I’m the beneficiary of a K1 visa. When we applied last year, I was living in a different country. Once my case was approved I have had to ask for it to be transferred to the new embassy where I’m living now. It’s been 3 weeks since the previous embassy said they have sent the file and the status is “Transfer in progress”. I’ve hear that when transferring a case, the case number changes? Or at least the first 3 letters (with the embassy code) do? can someone confirm? Or point me to how I can find out if I have a new case number to track? thank you!
