I get that. Was just wondering if the period of time between interview on 06/22 and "Final review" on 08/04 was ......... File sitting on supervisors desk awaiting final review and he only got to it after 6 weeks ? Or file seen by supervisor right away and sent to someone even higher which would explain the delay. Purely academic I know because it is what it is and will be approved when it is approved etc Just curious - the lady at interview gave the impression the forwarding to supervisor would only take a few days.

Filed in April 2022. My field office is Atlanta so 80% of cases processed in 32.5 months ( though now down to 26 months ) I submitted expedite request and it was granted - interviewed June 22nd 2023. The I-130 was approved immediately at interview. The I-485 passed to supervisor for review. One month later - no update so called Infopass. No news. Called again last week and managed to get a call back from "Tier 2 agent". He said it was passed to "final review" on Aug 4th. My question - was it passed to supervisor for final review ? Or was it passed to supervisor who passed it up higher to "final review" hence the delay ?

AOS and I-693

Is it possible that they are considering waiving the interview ? They usually ask for you to bring it in person to interview. I would re do the medical and hope for the best. -
In real terms, you have nothing to worry about. You are authorised to remain until your AOS is approved or not. For 99% of daily life - the subtle difference between Authorised Stay and Status will have zero effect on you. Police generally do not care about your immigration status. And if they do - one phone call verifies your authorised stay. Carry a photocopy of your receipt letter if you are worried.

They ARE out of status. Authorised stay is NOT status. Authorised stay is the Govt allowing you to stay pending AOS - that is DESPITE being out of status. One VERY important area of life in the US this affects is firearms possession. Whilst Authorised Stay allows you to get a driving licence (depending on state ) and many other activities - you are a prohibited person for firearms. This also applies to DACA. Allowed to stay. But technically illegal. An employer ran a check on me while I was in period of authorised stay - the result came back "Illegally present in USA". It is a very subtle difference. But you are still technically an overstayer / illegally in USA - the Authorised Stay is just the Govt delaying removal until result of AOS application.

I disagree. If they were getting more efficient, they could target the people who submitted earlier. I think they are approving a few new applications in order to bring down the "average" waiting time. Then it looks like they are keeping their promise of reducing waiting times. -
Call uscis on phone. Say"infopass" when prompted. Takes you to live operator.

I was in same position albeit GA. Expired i-94 but no EAD yet. I pointed out I was required to get DL but not allowed to. They said "Just tell the cop - they will accept that" I laughed and said "If he does not, will you appear in court in my defense ?" They said no 🙂 "Can I have a letter confirming I had applied in time but refused until EAD" - they gave me such a letter. Luckily I never got stopped so never found out if it would convince a cop. As soon as EAD arrived, they gave me GA licence with same expiry date.

Biometrics and EAD processing time

Mine was exactly 8 months. -
I think USCIS are trying to massage the figures. Approving a few applications super quick to bring the overall average down ?

I-485 Backlog

Quite easy. Just call Chicago and tell them. They ask for your reason. They submit the request electronically there. You then get an e-mail asking for evidence. I sent my evidence to Atlanta as the decision maker and uploaded a copy via MyUscis. Took a month for Chicago to decide it was best sent to Atlanta to make a decision. Atlanta took 2 months to ( I assume ) expedite and schedule an interview. I say assume as nobody has actually said it was expedited - just scheduled the interview. -
My case ( receipt date April 2022 - current processing times 80% in 38.5 months ) has had an interview scheduled. This is after I requested expediting my I-485. As I understand it, few I-485s are expedited ? Did my uploading lots of pics and evidence help ? Who knows ? I like to think it did not hurt and actually helped. I intend to ask if it was a factor at the end of the interview and will update you guys with the answer.

I filed April 2022. With the current processing times, I would be getting approved July 2025 ! Or later if not one of the 80% !! I submitted an expedite request. Chicago sent it to Atlanta to decide. It took a few months but they e-mailed me to say my case was "ready for scheduling interview" WITHOUT actually saying whether my case was being expedited ( scheduling an interview next month or in 2025 ?? ) I asked Chicago ( as no update on MyUscis ) if expedited and received another e-mail NOT saying whether expediting or not. I asked Chicago again and agent agreed that the e-mails were vague. He stated he was putting in a request emphasising I had not been notified of result of my expedite request. 2 days later on May 12th, I get an e-mail saying an interview has been scheduled but AGAIN not referring to approval / denial of expedite request. The "interview scheduled" is now showing on MyUscis BUT the appointment letter is not showing under my documents. Hopefully I get a letter this week.......... -
