To update anyone who runs into a similar issue
I was initially asked for my ZA PCC but when I said 'oh I don't have nationality?' the guy cofirmed with me then asked if I had a ZA passport and said okay to me not having it
Interview lady ran through same checks and asked when I left.
So seems nationality/passport affects which pcc you need regardless of age. I seem to have passed though as visa issued today!
I don't believe they're allowed to ask unless it is somehow related to a fraud concern. You shouldn't be treated any differently to a heterosexual couple. I know a few lgbt who have gone through with no issues. we'd hear about it more if there were. You'll be fine ❤️
Options one says ANY time, ie under 16 too
I know people who have interviewed in UK as non citizens, left their home country age 11 and needed pcc for home country.
There are situations where you need to provide certs for under 16 and I just dont know if I'm one of them
It's not that you only pick one option. I'm specifically talking about the first. ALL that apply should be adhered to, not just one option.
Option 3 is clear and I've only lived in one other country since age 16
Yes I know the rules of my country which is why I said I lost citizenship when I became a UK citizen at age **18**
None of this answers what I'm asking
No, there's a if you're 16yrs and older CURRENTLY but lived in your country of nationality BEFORE for 6months+ you need a pcc
I just don't know if it applies to ex-nationalities or if i need to prove i lost it
Sorry my interview is coming up so I'm still fretting
The req for police certs have 'if you lived in country of nationality for 12months at any time'
I was born in S. Africa and so was a national and left when I was 10. I automatically lost citizenship at age 18 when I got my UK citizenship.
Does anyone know if that rule applies for ex nationalities or only current? If only current are they likely to request proof I no longer have citizenship?
My embassy is London and they don't respond to inquiries
A pcc from ZA would also set me back £300 so I've not gotten it as I do think I probably don't need it.
yeah I tried to work backwards and it doesn't seem to be a multiple of the salary req so it doesn't seem linked? It must be a value they came up with as 'liveable'
May I ask how they calculate what savings are required to cover for income? I have family potentially affected and it wasn't obvious form website how income substitution is calculated
honestly my rec is to have a legal wedding at courthouse and plan a reception later with family etc. Takes the stress out when anything slows down/speeds up ❤️
As someone in middle of filing and helping many others going through process. Bulk is now 10months approval and moving to 9months. I got approved in sept and others from then were getting approved in 11 months
Uscis processing time is based on past 6 months so it fast gets out of date
Also tbh i guess it depends what threshold we're using. To hear back is def gonna be about 6-8 months but that incls RFEs. RFEs greatly increase the time to hit 80% approved/denied that uscis uses as their threshold 🤔
Its based on processing speed (obtained directly from uscis) and backlog (again obtained from uscis)
As USCIS doesn't process strictly in order it is an estimate as no one can say when you'll get approved but it was accurate for me and many others.
People here also said USCIS wasn't speeding up from 16months and they're now approving at 9months so
6 months seems correct based on their processing speed for last 6months+. 6 months is likely earliest though, people do often have to wait 1-3months longer than others in their month.
Congrats on filing!
their numbers are also based on last 6months, not 'current'. 6months ago it as about 14months to hear back but that includes RFEs. USCIS doesn't count RFEs, only approval/denial and RFEs can take anywhere for a few weeks to a few months dragging out the processing time ave for 80/93%
when you can submit an inquiry is based on when 93% have been adjudicated, 80% is just the average they give but 93% seems to be what they consider 'normal'.
weird, adding photo isn't part of page one
should be given names, marital status, dob and place of birth then save
if you didn't make it to this first save point then your application doesn't exist yet, you have to start over
had you entered your surname, yr of birth and saved before it timed out? If you haven't then no record exists which is why it can't find it
for instance it timed out half way through first page for me so i had to start over
you have to pay a fee to embassy, just not to nvc. Check status on CEAC and it should go in transit on a shipping day then to ready when embassy has it. Steps are embassy dependent so can't tell you
