not sure why you were told you can't cancel but you should have been able to reschedule. People do it all the time. Hope you managed to work something out ❤️

March 2024 - AOS Filers
AndiB replied to Etherial's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
nothing, super common for people to get EAD within a month but not everyone does. No one knows why. AOS is a lot more random timelines than k1 -
March 2024 - AOS Filers
AndiB replied to Etherial's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
it's okay if your aos isn't 'filed' within the 90days. Many file years later. Only thing that matters is your marriage certificate is dated within the 90days. Some PO bxes are taking a month to process applications and cheques. 1 day for me but a friend who filed same time with same NOA1 is still waiting (15days later) -
March 2024 - AOS Filers
AndiB replied to Etherial's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
yeah seems real hit or miss. I assume you checked your document tabs on myUSCIS? My status is still 'actively review' -
k1 timelines have been improving drastically over the last yr so USCIS 13.5 months is not a true reflection. People are currently hearing back in 5-6months (some later) They're processing mostly Oct-Nov 2023 filers right now. If you get a Request for Evidence this will obv add time It was also mentioned ave wait time for interview is 4months, seems odd, maybe some slow embassys are skewing VJ data but for UK it's usually 2-3months (incl NVC wait). Timelines an always change and obv you could end up slower at each stage than ave but essentially, you're likely looking at ~8-10months to visa on hand, maybe less if everything is smooth. I applied in 2022 and had my visa within 14months (but delayed interview by over a month due to travel limitations) and things have sped up since then. I moved here in Feb, married same month, applied for AOS mid march and have EAD approved already. Travel permit and greencard are def wildcard timelines which is where spousal can be advantageous but I'm happy with my choice. In regards to your initial concern, husband and i did the same, he filled in his sections and I filled in mine (he worked, I was at home so had more time). We had no issues with it. Evidence for us was 5 pictures, flight bookings and my i-94. Def start getting in habit of taking some pictures as will be useful for AOS. We often say selfie for USCIS as we're not selfie people either 😂

A-Number Mismatch
AndiB replied to Vulpis's topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Agree with all of this. I was someone who had their bio scheduled two weeks from noa1. Mail here is f'd atm with numerous issues so if I'd waited, I'd miss it, especially as it's scheduled a day my husband works and i can't drive. In regards to A number, definitely an odd one. Would follow up on Emma but def are don't think it's due to User error, just USCIS error likely -

VJ processing data k1
AndiB replied to AndiB's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
No, for k1 it just processes through. You seem to think you'll be moving to nvc soon which is incorrect. Your petition starts with uscis until they process it with approval, denial or rfe *then* it'll go to nvc. No one knows how long it takes to go to nvc because they don't update us with that. Only things we know are uscis approval date (noa2), case number creation date at nvc and when nvc sends it to your embassy (you get a welcome email, also known as k1-ftp) Noa2 to in transit is on average 3-5weeks. That is the only timeline anyone can really give you in regards to nvc. You are no where near this stage yet. -

oh wait I just saw your timeline. You haven't been approved yet? You need to wait to be approved by USCIS (NOA2) before it goes to NVC. You'll likely be approved or get RFE around mid-late summer I suggest reading a guide of what to expect. -

AndiB replied to AndiB's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
NOA2 to Transit to embassy is 3-5 weeks, sorry. Occasionally it takes longer for no reason we know of. Transit is usually every two weeks, think it was this week so petitioner should look out for an email in two weeks. Main shipping days are every second Tues/Wed -
what the form/instructions say should be followed over whatever a guide says. It clearly states if they are **currently** in the US. You clearly know she is not, the question is not 'has she ever visited?'. Fill in based on instructions on the form or from supplementary info and if you have questions, look at a guide. Do NOT follow a guide over what the instructions are clearly asking of you. Is she in US currently is a simple Yes/No question, there's no trick you're missing.

AndiB replied to nullaccount's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
you were misled, you can 100% get a new esta while waiting for K1, I did no problem. I think only visa question they ask is if you've ever been denied (or maybe applied) for immigrant visa but K1 is nonimmigrant. As others have said you are overthinking. 32% of August is still pending. They *always* move onto new months before finishing the prior. Different case workers, diff speeds of security checks etc. If you end up being one of the last 10ish % then petitioner can try reaching out to their senators to contact USCIS on their behalf but you are 10000% still in normal processing. -

NVC is 3-5 weeks on ave right now -
depends on which visa, they have all the information on their website. They should have also contacted you with a lsit

Is something up with interview date data for k1? I see you have NOA2 wait has decr by almost 50% but interview is still 4-5months??? It says Oct NOA1 filers are interviewing on ave now, I'm in Oct filer group and majority I know have already been in US for months. Are people just not entering data after NOA2 or is it dominated by slow embassys (canada and aus etc)?
