  1. Hi everyone! There's a lot of very helpful people here so I was hoping that someone could kindly share some advise. Me and my wife are planning to move to the US (she is the US citizen) in January once her 2 year graduate visa has expired here in the UK. Since graduating from her masters in the UK she has been working at a nursery/primary school and wants to complete her teaching qualifications in the USA given the massive teacher shortage. Should we go down the typical CR1 process and file the I-130 now and submit ourselves to the inevitable 18 months wait? Or alternatively, since my wife will be getting a job before moving back, either in a nursery while she completes the initial teacher training or as an admin assistant/secretary, should we wait for a job offer and file for DCF with exceptional circumstances (job relocation) to make the process much quicker? Finally, are we able to file the I-130 now through the normal route, and then apply for DCF with exceptional circumstances later? Would this have an impact on us getting accepted? Really appreciate any advise/comments here! Thanks in advance
  2. Hi all, I was hoping that someone could help me answer this question regarding if I will need a police certificate or not. It states that Police Certificates are required for all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months since the age of 16. Does this mean 12 months continuously, or 12 months in total? Example: I am a UK citizen/resident, however I went to university for 3 years in the Netherlands. First year: I was only in the Netherlands for around 9 months in total, with approximately 1 month home in the UK over Xmas and 2 months home in Summer. Second year: Again, I was only in the Netherlands for 9 months in total, with approximately 1 month home in the UK over Xmas and 2 months home in Summer. Third year: I was only in the Netherlands for 5 months in the year, as I was on a study abroad programme for a period. Would be great to hear peoples thoughts/experiences on this sort of situation! Thanks Joe
