  1. Another approval in almost a year. Not mine. It seems they are trying to move faster.
  2. Go back to page 23 of this thread and there is a bunch of case numbers with pending cases since 2022. They started adjudicating some 2023 cases but that doesn't mean all 2022 are done. They don't go by date as they say.
  3. Impressive, one of the rare 52 weeks at DOS, sometimes I wonder if certain backgrounds or job classes complicate DOS processing more than others or not.
  4. @ErinK @g3dan00 Congrats to both of you. Did you try to expedite or contact congressman before resorting to WoM? Do you recommend trying those before the Mandamus or go straight for WoM when we are out of processing timeline?
  5. If you go back to page 23 and 24 of this thread you will find a bunch of case numbers you can track on DOS website… it’s all anonymous so it doesn’t really matter.
  6. We’re almost at the end of fiscal year 2023 and they didn’t release 2022 statistics. My guess is they are delaying the release until after the finish processing all 2022 cases!! Which will take forever with their snail pace
  7. Thanks for the clarification, it’s great that worked out for you. How long did it take for the change of status to be approved?
  8. That’s interesting, I was under the impression O1 visa has to be stamped from home country, do you mind sharing more details about what didi you do to change the status and how long it took to process?
  9. I was also wondering about self filing using the helpful tutorial igoyougoduke posted earlier but that was specific to filing against USCIS. Not sure in our case who to file against in the DOS.
  10. Thanks for taking this step! Please keep updating the thread with your experience regarding this process, I forecast many of us will revert to doing the same after waiting more than 1 year at DOS. The current situation is unbearable.
  11. As with every other aspect of this crazy black box process, It varies greatly, some people it takes less than a week and others take 1-3 months. If it takes more than 3 months, I'd contact them and the USCIS to make sure the application wasn't lost.
  12. Not mine but this took 20 months at the DOS!! This is a crazy amount of time at DOS which makes it extremely hard to plan our careers.
  13. I'd explore getting an O1 visa till your hardship is accepted (which seems very close). If you go the Conrad 30 route, you will lock yourself with the hospital for 4 years at least. Ask them if they are willing to sponsor O1 visa which should not be too hard for physicians to qualify for.
  14. I don’t think so, USCIS is the one that determines if there is extreme hardship or not, so if they already issued a form I613 and sent your file to DOS, that means they already found exceptional hardship and no need to update medical records. I do have a question regarding this scenario but pertaining to DS-2019, I had a new DS-2019 issued after my hardship application was submitted and now in the process of getting another one, do I need to update DOS with the new forms while the case is pending there?
  15. It took them 6 months to send me the RFE since initial application. I responded to the RFE about a month ago and it’s still processing. They usually take 2 months to process the RFE reaponse.
  16. This seems very expensive, my lawyer charges a total of $6k, half of them before filing and the rest after the case is approved, If it was not approved, we do not pay the remaining $3k. This doesn’t include USCIS or DOS application fees. Also I got an RFE and there was no extra charge for handling it. And by the way, having a lawyer doesn’t mean that you will not work on your case, in fact you will have to do a lot of research and provide lots of evidence regarding your case as you know it best. The lawyer is there to guide you and to put it all together in a way that maximizes the chances of your case being accepted.
