  1. Hello, I am a USC petitioner for my husband and stepson (separate I-130s, submitted at same time). NVC shows the AOS fee as 'Paid' for both after I paid it once in my husband's nvc case. We are only trying to complete NVC stage for my husband, as we are postponing my stepsons case for now. So wanting two different timelines of completion here for my husband and stepson Questions : Can I use I-864EZ for my husband even though on his i-130 I noted I have also filed for my stepson? Or should I do the standard i-864? I have paid husbands IV fees as well. Is it okay to only submit the i-864 for my husband now and delay my stepson’s case by a year? I have read that as long as I periodically check in with nvc, it will remain open. We did not pay the IV fees for my stepson yet Thank you for any help/comments.
  2. Hello, I submitted I-130 2 months ago (IR1) for my husband and 11 yr old stepson who live abroad. I am the usc petitioner. When I checked the progress today, it said estimated progress waiting time on my husband's application to be 2 weeks, while my stepson's was estimated 7 months. I had filed for them online at the same time, but each got their own I-130 and separate fees paid (but all done on same day). I did reach out to a congressman to assist with expediting but they required additional documents which I didn't have yet. I wonder if they really helped moved it up somehow regardless. 1) Are these estimated times quite reliable? Could the congressman have had something to do with expediting somehow? 2) Is there something I need to do to tie their applications together? Any thoughts or advice is appreciated. Thank you kindly.
