  1. So I went to my SS office and they confirmed it had been processed and gave me my SSN there and then. Tried to open a bank but they needed my actual green card number (bank was USAA). So just waiting for it now. Heading back to the Middle East for a few weeks for work so hope it arrives
  2. Thank you so much for your help!!! Yeah I think I’m getting mixed up with another visa or the passport packet
  3. Hi Daphne. I entered on the 23rd December. So I don’t need to apply for anything. I saw some people say they got a pack on arrival but I didn’t.
  4. Hi guys. So I received my visa and entered the United States. Had my visa stamped and this now serves as my GC until my physical one arrives. My question is, do I need to do anything now? I tried to open a bank account but I need a SSN. Do I need to apply or is one sent out automatically? Same question to the physical green card. Thank you for any help. James

  9. Hi guys, thought I’d give a quick review of my recent experience at the London embassy. all in all, a really pleasant experience. My interview time was 10am. I arrived an hour early and check in, was advised I was a little early and to come back at 0930. There was a nice little cafe opposite the embassy where I went and got a coffee whilst I waited. I arrived back at 0930, joined a smaller que as it was an immigrant appointment and went straight through airport style security. I then proceeded into the embassy and was asked to take a seat on the first floor. I was only seated for around 5-10 mins when I was called to the window for document checks. Very pleasant and again only took around 5-10 minutes. I was asked to take another seat in the same area whilst I waited for an officer. 15 minutes later I was called to another window where a nice lady asked me a couple of straight forward questions about my DUI I received in Germany a few years ago, a couple about my wife and she smiled and told me my visa has been APPROVED. all in all I was in and out in around 40 mins and was a really pleasant experience. my question now is, where do I see any updates. My NVC page is the same and the US visa page says status:appointment. Does anyone know where I can see an update and any idea I can expect to get my passport back ? thanks 😊 J
  10. I have a German police check but it shows no record. On my ACRO is states that I have a DUI and it already has my outcome on there (how long it was for and what the fine was)
  11. Basically says I was banned from driving for 10 months and fines X amount of euros. Do I still need a SAR or as it’s showing already it’s pretty clear. UK check etc all come back as good
  12. How did this end up. I’ve just received my ACRO and it shows an okd DUI in Germany as stepped down.
  13. Hey guys. So when I did my forms for DS130 it asks if I have been arrested or convicted of any offence or crime, I answered no. When I got my police check back it shows that I had a DUI in Germany however this isn’t showing on my German police check. It’s actually showing as grace and step down As I haven’t declared this, (I didn’t declare it as I wasn’t handcuffed, taken to a cell etc in Germany) will this affect my visa application. I have interview next month ! Any help would be greatly appreciated. James
  14. Thank you! Did this and got transferred to the London embassy. Awaiting interview after having documents accepted
  15. Hi guys. I’m at a similar place. We filed our I130 which has been approved. Problem is we submitted our application in Germany whilst both there on orders but now my wife is back in the US and I’m working in the Middle East as a contractor. Can I select an embassy/consulate when I fill the next forms in ?
