  1. Hello so I had an interview at the London embassy back in September, I was advised I was approved and they kept my passport. When I followed up with the embassy they told me I was in administrative processing even though ceac never changed from ready. I noticed yesterday my ceac updated twice, on e in the morning a date change, and then once in the afternoon to reflect administrative processing. Is this a good sign, or a reflection of an even longer wait?

Our next plan was to call the congressman.

Our case is at Ankara, Turkey becaus of not having an embassy in Iran. 168 days after the interview we received the AP completed email asking us to submit the passport and renewing medical exam. Cost my 78 years father to travel to ankar again to renew his medical and now another pause. Embassy shouldn't hold on people passport because someone may need it for travel. His clearance will expires in 2 month so gusse what then they probably milk it for another six months and then they need new medical again. It is absurd.

That's ridiculous. I'm sorry you and your father have to go through that. The congressman experience I had was quite pleasant. They may be able to help with you guys! Fingers crossed he gets it soon!

My spouse's interview was on 12/7/2020 at the Mumbai Consulate. The interview went smooth and we received a visa approval letter. All documents are in order and income is definitely not an issue as it is more than 5x the minimum requirement for household size. The approval letter states that the passport will be available in 3-5 business days. However, it has been 9 business days and when we check the status on CEAC and it shows as "Ready" even though our interview already occured. The "case last updated" date has updated 3 times since our interview with most recent being 12/18/2020. Does anyone know what this means and how long it will take for us to get passport back with visa stamp? I don't think this is common and worried about denial even after they approved. Please help!

Did you ever recieve your visa what was the timeline? Were in the same boat

Is this the same question from your post on Sunday?

It would help if you completed your timeline.  Also, do you have any other citizenship, or have lived in MENA countries?

Verbal approval is just an indication that the CO was satisfied with the interview.  It does not mean actual approval.  The embassy/consulate will need to run background checks, and if everything comes back clean they will issue the visa.  Background checks can take a while if they need to investigate travel history or records in other countries.

    Hello,

I do have dual citizenship with uk and Canada. I just haven't heard of one taking over a month without a 221(g)

These are all good signs. If they kept your passport, I think you can expect your visa issued soon! I’m now too waiting for ~two weeks after the interview for my passport been sent back. Similar to your case, approved at the interview, no 221(g), no additional information requested.

Fingers crossed for you! I've found this the hardest wait of the process for sure!

your case is likely still in Administrative Processing, which may take some time (weeks, months). Just stay patient and wait. Did the CO give any 221(g) to you in the end of the interview? Did they request any additional information?

No they never gave me a 221(g) and said no information is required. I called the medical center to make sure the medical was sent. And they confirmed it was sent the day after my interview (though the co never mentioned it or gave me 221(g)).
