Hi! Are you still in AP? I have a somewhat similar situation now. Had my K-1 interview 2 days ago in Amsterdam, and she approved it. 3 hours later I got an email to fill out a DS5535 form and my case is in AP. I also think it’s because of my birth country Iran. I had hope because I was three years old when we left Iran. I only have the Dutch citizenship. This is honestly devastating.

Ohhh because my case is ready and I just filled the DS160 and payed for it but it’s still processing. I have no idea what the next step is after that. I’m so confused cause some embassies you can schedule an appointment yourself. I don’t know if I should do my medical now or gather my documentation and have them translated cause I don’t want that to expire as well

No way!! It takes that long? So after your payment is received, they send you a invitation letter?

Can I ask you, how did you make an appointment at the Amsterdam embassy? Because I payed for the DS-160, and they haven’t processed it yet. Do they make an appointment for me or should I do it myself? And how long are the waiting times? Sorry for so many questions

Omg thanks! That gives me such relief! You have no idea how stressed I was reading all these stories from Iranians and how they been in AP for years and even the ones with dual citizenship. I have my K1 interview soon and I was already preparing for the worse. I am a citizen of the Netherlands by the way, but born in Iran. We left when I was like 2 years old.

Hi, quick question about the DS-160 form. My name on my birth certificate is Nikki. My nickname since I was a kid is Nicole. I never use my nickname on documents only my social media and email. Also everybody calls me by that name. Should I put it on the given name option section? Because I did put it somewhere in the I-129 form. But if I have to bring a police clearance form for that name, or of they do a background check, they won’t find anything. Please help me out!
