December 2021 I-130 filers
Volli replied to lemlem's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Changing the status to Active Review sometimes means nothing, but in our case it meant that was sent to another service center for review (we asked EMMA). Even though nothing happened for several months, we finally got approved after exactly 14 month. I don't think they forgot you, give them another one or two weeks. What service center is your case at? I mean the real one, not the one they showed you on your initial received mail/letter at the very beginning of the I-130 process. -

Entering US with IR1 visa/GC stamp twice
Volli replied to Volli's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
If the plastic card has already been issued and delivered to the US address but I don't have it in my hands yet because I'm in Germany. Is it still OK to enter the US with the GC passport stamp? Or do I have to ask my folks in the US to send it to Germany? -
Entering US with IR1 visa/GC stamp twice
Volli replied to Volli's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Great! Thanks, guys! -
Hello, I have a question. Due to special circumstances, we may enter the U.S. on the IR1 visa, triggering the green card production process. However, because we still have some things to do, we will only stay in the USA for a limited time at first and fly back to Germany. In the worst case, it could take several months until the GC is completed and sent out. Can we re-enter the USA again later with the replacement GC stamp in the passport because the physical GC is not yet ready or is entry only possible with the plastic GC triggered by the first initial visit? Does this put us at any risk?

- Civil documents is a different section - The birth certificate is for the beneficiary - Same for the police record, it's the one of your wife which needs to be uploaded Basically at NVC stage it's all about the applicant (the beneficiary is applying to enter the US at the NVC stage and therefore is now the applicant - other than at the USCIS stage). Only the I-864 (AoS) is about the petitioner.

There are two dates of birth. Yours and your spouse. Are both correct?

Interview for 2 years old
Volli replied to Kiran kaur's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
A 2 years old? What are they going to do with the little todler, an interview in babytalk language? Yes and in addition, this little guy should not forget to fill out his DS-260 form and provide it's police and military records. 😁 Sorry - I had a clown for breakfast and I find the question funny - NO OFFENSE THOUGH!!! -
3. ... and is shown on one or more Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s ... Just in case you don't know, the recent Tax Transscipt also works just fine.

October 2021 I-130 Filers
Volli replied to TJ66's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Just want to add another (funny?) way to get a live person through EMMA. I wanted to use EMMA asking some stuff about my case. No matter how I phrased my question, EMMA always came up with the same boring answer showing me some links about the USCIS homepage. I got a little p!$$ed and entered "you lady just don't understand me". EMMA answered something like "I'm sorry that I'm not able to understand - I connect you to a live agent" (not literally though) and intstantly connected me to a live person. So she seemed to be embarrassed about her helpnessless. 🙂 -
Registered Translator - Germany
Volli replied to David54321's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
I don't know the correct answer either but I chose to use a registered translator because I don't want to risk a refusal only to save a few bugs. What I've learnt here is that the NVC is quite picky. -
The purpose of this form is to collect additional information for a spouse beneficiary of Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. If your spouse is a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or non-citizen U.S. national who is filing Form I-130 on your behalf, you must complete and sign Form I-130A, Supplemental Information for Spouse Beneficiary, and submit it with the Form I-130 filed by your spouse. If you reside overseas, you still must complete Form I-130A, but you do not need to sign the form. So my understanding is that this form has to be filled out by the beneficiary. And I remember I did that too. My wife (USC) filled out the I-130 and I (beneficiary) did the I-130a. Because I understood the questions I didn't need her for translation. If I did, I would have filled out the interpreter section.

Be honest! There is nothing wrong to fill out this section.

NVC Registration Termination
Volli replied to pkfootball1998's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
To keep your case active, do not let more than one year pass without contacting NVC. To do so, you can submit fees and/or documents through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC), https://ceac.state.gov/iv. Each time you access your case in CEAC, your contact date will be updated. If one year passes from the last date of contact with NVC, all submitted fees, forms and documents will expire, and your case will begin the pre-termination process. Source: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing/helpful-hints-iv-processing.html So my understanding is that whenever you login into your CEAC account the timer is reset. -
Filing i-130 online. Need help!
Volli replied to Needhelp345's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
I can only suggest to 'rent" a US phone number from Skype. You can even choose the area code. OK, it's like $50 a year but it saved our lives not only for the immigration stuff but for many other things where US companies, banks etc. won't accept foreign phone numbers. This number, if you don't resign the Skype renewal, stays the same forever. And the connection fees are really low. -
How the heck do I change the address?
Volli replied to Alex&Nayden's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Even though it won't impact the I-130 approval, they still send the hard copy approval letter to the specified mailing address (looks pretty official with sort of watermarks). You probably never need the hard copy, though. You can download it from the USCIS account anyway. The only information you need later at the NVC stage is your 'USCIS Online Account Number' (not the 'Receipt Number'). And this number is printed on the approval letter which you can download. So don't be worried. -
Same here. Submitted all the stuff today 20 Jan. Please add.

October 2021 I-130 Filers
Volli replied to TJ66's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
USC, IR1, Nebraska transferred to Potomac PD: 22 Oct 2021 AR1: 26 May 2022 AR2: 22 Dec 2022 (approved) NVC received: 26 Dec 2022 -
Don't know but it seems to me that you've already had your interview (NVC stage). The access for the USCIS stage is the I-130 receipt number and the online access code which has been sent to you after the case receipt notification. If you already had your interview, the USCIS account is basically no longer of interest as you are now in a different world, the world of NVC. You should have received the access codes for the ceac system from NVC. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
