  1. After almost 14 month they finally changed it to Active Review. This is different to many (and our) cases when they changed it to Active Review after a few weeks/month after the initial i-130 application and nothing happened for a long long time. As I said before, give them 1-2 more weeks. If you get approved within 2 weeks you owe me a beer - if not I owe you one. Deal? And don't forget to check the Documents Tab in the online system. They hide the approval there in many cases.
  2. Changing the status to Active Review sometimes means nothing, but in our case it meant that was sent to another service center for review (we asked EMMA). Even though nothing happened for several months, we finally got approved after exactly 14 month. I don't think they forgot you, give them another one or two weeks. What service center is your case at? I mean the real one, not the one they showed you on your initial received mail/letter at the very beginning of the I-130 process.
  3. Thanks again, I think I got it now 😉
  4. If the plastic card has already been issued and delivered to the US address but I don't have it in my hands yet because I'm in Germany. Is it still OK to enter the US with the GC passport stamp? Or do I have to ask my folks in the US to send it to Germany?
  5. Hello, I have a question. Due to special circumstances, we may enter the U.S. on the IR1 visa, triggering the green card production process. However, because we still have some things to do, we will only stay in the USA for a limited time at first and fly back to Germany. In the worst case, it could take several months until the GC is completed and sent out. Can we re-enter the USA again later with the replacement GC stamp in the passport because the physical GC is not yet ready or is entry only possible with the plastic GC triggered by the first initial visit? Does this put us at any risk?
  6. Alright of course. Seems I got this wrong - sorry.
  7. ... - Different reciepts of services/goods purchased, showing both our names - Certificate of legal/religious wedding - 2-pages statement telling how we met, about our relationship ... The date should be on the certificate (???)
  8. - Civil documents is a different section - The birth certificate is for the beneficiary - Same for the police record, it's the one of your wife which needs to be uploaded Basically at NVC stage it's all about the applicant (the beneficiary is applying to enter the US at the NVC stage and therefore is now the applicant - other than at the USCIS stage). Only the I-864 (AoS) is about the petitioner.
  9. There are two dates of birth. Yours and your spouse. Are both correct?
