Uscis changed the police certificates to two years. Montreal website still says one year as they never updated the form. It is definitely two years from the date of the interview. Basically if you are close to 6 months left on the rcmp police record and anticipate the interview soon I would get a new one to prevent any issues.
-
If the police certificate was issued after you left and you have not returned. It is fine. You would only need a new one if you have gone back.
-
Sorry and all police records should be from the last 2 years. But as many of us are waiting longer than this. My assumption is he had to get a new police record and it had past the 2 year mark... or perhaps was close and they didn't want any reason for AP

For police records you must submit for any country you have lived whilst you were over the age of 16. For the Canadian police record it must be from the rcmp. Must be for personal use. And must not contain a photograph or fingerprints.

December is great news. The website says July. I have conformation of a September. A speculation about November. But great to see a confirmed date in December! Anyone with a January date get an invite?
-
Interview letters got sent this morning for the other categories. Any eb ones get sent?
-
Still no interviews letters this month for May dates.... and still no official update on the website. They really are enjoying torturing us all....

Yes priority is given to family over employment. So your dq date will be processed in the same timeline as the other employment groups. There is no priority within the employment group. Eg eb1 is not processed any faster than eb3
-
All the timelines are on the spreadsheet found on page one. You can request access and add your own information also.
-
So they are currently working on July 2022 and you are Dec 2023. So 17 months. They are currently processing between 1.6-2 months per month on average. So best guess is between 8-10 months for you to get called for an interview. So my best guess Nov 2024- Jan 2025. However. Montreal are not at all transparent and have been seen to be very productive for a few months followed by many many months of no progress. We can only hope things improve!
-
Well we can only hope this is true and they start processing 4 months at a time!
-
I noticed yesterday the February 27th too. Weird. However they have not updated the dates at all. They are all still the same as last month. Even if eb doesn't move. The other categories always tend to advance. I think when someone in Montreal logs in and even if they change the website or not it says updated. As the last updated date often changes at least twice a month. We have seen people as far as September be called for interviews. But just no official update. Last time they missed an update they did it on the first of the next month. So I expect it to be updated next week. My favourite game is the refresh the website and hope for big advancements and always be left thoroughly disappointed

What was you dq date? And visa type? You can add your entry back in!
-
Honestly nobody knows the answer. Last year montreal worked on the backlog until May. Then didn't send out any more invites for the rest of the year. There is the potential they do that again, but we have no idea. We have seen the AOS are not always requesting interviews, therefore they have cleared the back log much quicker than CP. Depending on when you were dq'd and where you are in the line in your home country will help you figure it out. As i believe you reset your dq date when you change location.
-
If you are already in US why not go through AOS as the timeline is 2-3 months and you don't need to leave US

Where did you see it was to October? I thought it was only July? October would be huge news!!!
-
January visa stats are out. No big surprise very few eb visas issued. Hopefully we see a big uptick now that we see interview letters coming out again. If you receive an interview letter please let us know and update the spreadsheet.
-
I just saw this on reddit. Someone who was eb3 got their AOS approved in 3 months with an interview waiver. If anyone has this option it seems like a real good idea to transfer to AOS right about now.
-
2 months progress. May to July! So glad to finally be seeing movement again! Hopefully it continues to clear 2 months each month!
-
Wonderful news! So glad to hear they are inviting people again! Gives us all great hope! Let us know how the interview goes! Good luck!

In this context. It is administrative processing. It happens if you are not approved for the visa after the interview in Montreal. There are many reasons. Sometimes you are missing documents, or something comes up during the security checks. Currently the wait if you are put into AP is up to 18 months after the initial interview and montreal have been putting a large number of people into this category. There is a whole other blog post for that because it happens to so many people. Sometimes after this process people are approved. Sometimes rejected and it needs to be appealed - which is also a very long process.
-
Visas issued. There have been no interview letters gone out to eb in months. This is likely just people that were put into AP and had it resolved.
-
December stats are out and very little visas issued yet again. At this rate it will be 5 years before ours get issued.
-
Thank you both for your detailed replies! We are already working for a US company, so we will get the ball rolling on the TN route while we wait for consular processing!
-
Another follow up question if you know the answer. If we move to the US on TN and return to Montreal for the visa interview what would happen if we get put into AP? Would we then be stuck in canada until it's resolved? As we wouldn't be able to get back down on the TN following the interview but before AP is resolved... any idea on that?
