Just that last year they only sent out invites until may. And then there were no invites until January. I'm concerned the same thing is going to happen again this year.
-
Nvc website says police reports are valid for 2 years. Montreal says only 1.... I recently emailed them to try get some official conformation if it's 1 or 2 years. We got ours in Feb 2023.... I think we will likely reorder a new one when we get the interview date. But as there is a possibility they aren't going to invite anyone until next year we haven't ordered it as we don't want it to expire also. And no. There is no extra payment I believe. Just the payment for the medical exam.

Not a thing. We got our 60 day notice email. But not seen a single interview go out.....
-
There isn't a whatsapp group for EB However we could make one that is joined with the other groups. They have a few different sub groups already. I have found most other eb people on visa journey or reddit.
-
They have now processed to 12 March for CR/IR for the Sept dates.
-
I'm in a whatsapp group for IR/CR. I like to see what is going on in all groups to try understand what is going on at montreal!
-
Not always the same day. But usually around the same time. So if EB are to get sept invites. It will be either this week or next. IR/CR have only been progressing about 7 days each month for the last 3 months (usually they progress a whole month). I think this is because family was the priority. (We saw this group progress from Aug- March last month) This month they have progressed 10 days. So I'm truly hoping that employment will be priority if IR and CR are still not seeing much advancements and family are now caught up to the IR/CR group

I saw IR/CR September invites went out this morning. Still nothing for employment. Hoping ours come out this week also.
-
Yeah. I think also its all to do with how many times you are going and how long you stay. I also would make sure you have a return ticket booked. Otherwise it can arouse unnecessary suspicion. If you go once or twice for a week vacation. No big deal. If you travel down every week and call that vacations. Probably going to raise some red flags. We have a friends wedding at the end of Aug. So going to bring the invite. The hotel reservation for where we are staying and our return ticket. I dont anticipate any issues. If they were to ask any further questions. You can mention as you are consular processing you have to leave the US for the interview. So therefore have no intention of staying.

The good news is they have cleared the family backlog. It's now also March 2024. I believe it was Aug 2023 last month? I think this means they have been prioritizing back log as I follow a lot of IR and CR groups and they have been frustrated at the lack of progress... So we can only hope their plan is to clear employment and at least get all groups to March 2024 and just do first in first out for all groups. Rather than having IR and CR always be the priority over family and employment. We shall see! I did see some family interviews go out this morning. But still not seen any employment.

As of July 8, 2024, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in March 2024; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in March 2024; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in January 2023.

There haven't been any invites sent since April. Unfortunately I think we are in the same situation as last year where they processed many months at the start of the year and then nothing for the rest of the year. The invites got sent out for August last week and eb didn't get any. Eb is just not a priority for Montreal. We can only hope I'm wrong and eb gets some invites in Aug for the Sept dates. There is no phone number to call and I think most of the email you just get an automated response saying there are backlogs and its first in first out and to wait your turn.

Best guess from this is it cannot be over a year of unpaid leave. And you still must maintain the you have worked for the company for 1 full year of the last 3 years to maintain the status. But I am not in any way a lawyer. And this is just my assumption from reading about eb1c....
-
No idea I'm eb2 niw. Check with a lawyer?
-
You would need a new one as you have returned to the country since the previous police report was issued.
-
Yeah
-
I mean anything is possible with montreal. But lately it's all went out on the same day.
-
Actually. It was only one person.... could be a troll on these forums.... never mind

Cr1/ir1 got their interview letters today for August.... I presume as its so quiet employment are skipped for another month......
-
The July invites for August dates are likely to go out in the first week of July. So hopefully next week we see some movement.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html Looking through the statistics. Montreal historically have been doing about 400 total visas per month. In March they did 600. In April they did 800. Someone who had their interview said that they mentioned hiring more staff during their interview. As they have doubled their output of visas per month, it only makes sense more staff have been hired to see this vast increase.
-
Best case scenario. They prioritize eb and clear the whole backlog quickly. Worst case scenario. They lose a bunch of staff. Continue prioritizing family and spousal and never send out eb interview letters and it escalates to what 5/10 years and you need to hire a lawyer to file a WOM to get your case seen. But there are checks and balances within all government systems. Even if it doesn't feel like it. So there is no point in thinking about the worst case. Also they have just hired more staff and seen them double their monthly production. So the backlog being cleared is the more likely situation.
-
Yes. If they sent out interviews in July for August, I would expect you will be invited as you have a dq date that is before what they are currently working on. (Jan 2023). Please let us know if you get an invite letter as it helps us track it! Good luck!
-
No priority. Just first in first out approach
-
Yeah its the 60 day notice. They are sent out every 60 days automatically. They don't really mean anything. Just that you are in line.
