  1. On page 1 of this thread 3labmom was discussing their ongoing lawsuit using the WOM. This is not a new topic. And they are now in the US. So perhaps it is a very reasonable thing to discuss. Perhaps read up on the purpose of the WOM - it is to get action within a reasonable time frame, which is not happening. Hence why this is a valid action to take.
  2. I know that previously people have tried to sue them using the writ of mandamus, but that didn't work either and costs a lot for lawyer fees. No idea how we can speed anything up. It's very frustrating considering we are already approved and this is just a glorified document check.
  3. Because most people who have been waiting years have dates which are current for green cards and our only hold up is montreal, not green card availability.
  4. It is not possible to provide precise wait times for immigrant visa appointments, as facilities, staffing resources, and local conditions all affect capacity and scheduling. As of September 29, 2023, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in June 2023; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in April 2021; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in January 2021. Ah. Montreal have went backwards. I'm really hoping this was a copy paste error and not that they were getting our hopes up that they had actually made some progress.
  5. We have never had the 60 day emails... should we be concerned or just assume further incompetence from montreal?
  6. It is beyond frustrating. They made so much progress at the start of the year, then just nothing. I'd really hoped they were going to keep the same pace and was so disappointed.
  7. October visa bulletin is out for anyone who is waiting for their priority date to become current.
  8. https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/consular-operations-updates/
  9. Montreal hadn't officially updated the dates they were processing since January, even though we had seen people be invited for an interview. So in 8 months they processed 16 months. It just seemed like a large jump as their website had not updated. The hope is they will keep clearing the back log. But it's still very slow. Assume they are processing 2 months per month and figure out if it's worth your time to transfer!
  10. Therefore you are current. Montreal is currently dealing with eb visas that were dq'd April 2022. You are December 2022. Previously they have processed multiple months at a time. So my hope is you would be in the next batch of interview letters. But montreal hasn't been very reliable at much during this process. Best case you will have a letter by December. Worst case early next year. Please keep us updated when you do get the letter!
  11. Check the us visa bulletin. It depends on which country you are born in. Your priority date needs to be current for a green card to be available.
  12. If your priority date is current. I would assume you will be in the next batch of interviews. End of Sept or October most likely...
  13. If your dq date is June 2021 and you haven't had your interview letter you should contact montreal. I know one other guy (KO7) in the spreadsheet whose dq date changed and I'm not sure why. So they didn't get an interview when they should have. Nobody in this group have been given an interview since may. But you should have been in that batch. I can see updates on the spreadsheet. I think the newest people having been dq'd in June 2023. There just have been no interview letters for months.
  14. It is not possible to provide precise wait times for immigrant visa appointments, as facilities, staffing resources, and local conditions all affect capacity and scheduling. As of September 05, 2023, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in June 2023; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in March 2023; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in April 2022. Finally some official progress January 2021- April 2022!
  15. Definitely move your case if you have the option. The current wait time officially is 2.5 year. Realistically I think its about 1 year.
  16. I'd only imagine if you have forged documents. Lied about anything or they become aware of a crime you have committed would you actually be denied. I know there are some issues if you have served for a military whose country have recently been at war with America. But if your documents and application are legit I don't think you get rejected at this stage.
  17. We have a spreadsheet of everyone who is waiting. If you go to page one of this thread and scroll down, you can find it. The official montreal website says January 2021. But eb1 has progressed further. They are still blaming covid back logs. But nobody has been given an interview letter since may. Not sure what monteal are doing at this point.
  18. There are people who applied in Jan 2023 still waiting. Best guess would be spring/summer 2024.
  19. We have seen people up to January 2022 be scheduled for an interview. So the montreal website is just wrong. Why they are not updating it we don't know. Also nobody has received interview dates since may which is very frustrating.
  20. Has there been nobody at all been given interview letters for end of april/ start of May?! Has any of the other categories received theirs?
  21. Why has Montreal not updated their progress this month? It still states Nov 3rd? Has there been no progress in the backlog? It seems concerning still nobody has received IL.
  22. "We urge any visa applicant who can travel to another embassy or consulate with shorter wait times to consider doing so. There is no penalty for applying anywhere appointments are available, even outside your home country. For the latest information about wait times, see https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html." Was there ever any further information on this status about going to other consulates with shorter wait times?
