  1. Hi all, Just wanted to give a final update. We crossed the border on 18th october. Received our SSN on 1st November. Received our green card 8th November. Thank you for all the help and support in this group over the years. Good luck to everyone else still in the process. I wish you fast interview letters and no AP for you all. Good luck!
  2. The border guards do not mention it at all. They just confirm the address in which you want your green card to go. (This will be the same address as the SSN). If you have applied for the SSN on the ds260. Your SSN cards will already be delivered to the address of choice in your time frame if you are activating in Jan and crossing in Feb/march. It only takes a couple weeks to come.
  3. They say the ssn comes in two weeks. And the green card is up to 3 months. But they will both come if they were requested.
  4. We ticked the 'we want a SSN box' when filling out the ds260. If you didn't do that you can request one when your green card arrives.
  5. Nope. You can email. But the response time is slow. Yes. After the interview they can do further security checks. If anything comes up you can go into AP until you have crossed the border.
  6. Hello! Yes we crossed the border on Friday. The visa stamp is in your passport and this is valid to cross the border for up to a year or until you get your green card. You can cross with your passport and stamp as many times as you want. The border guards just asked what we do for work and where we were going. Nothing much else. We are still awaiting our ssn's, we tried going to a ssa today to get a copy of the number to start with drivers licenses and bank accounts but they are still not issued. We will try again later this week! Anyone that has crossed the border recently. How long did the ssn take?
  7. They finished their journey back in 2023. Most people are not still on this forum. You can look through his previous comments for further information. I see he then went into AP anyway
  8. Yes we collected the passports from canada post location yesterday. And planning to drive over the border on Friday!
  9. Generally it's the last week of the month or first week of the month. So I would expect to see then end of October or start of November. For the last few months it has been every month. So hopefully they maintain current speeds
  10. Top right. Your case is currently at : nvc. That can change to ready, issued, refused. Depending what stage you are at. It will stay 'at nvc' until you get your interview letter
  11. Yeah i think it was Thursday we were issued and Monday before we had a tracking number.
  12. The best thing to do is go into the US asap. As they can still technically withdraw your application up until you activate it. (I have seen it happen in other groups due to further screening). Most people drive through the border and go through the process. It can take a couple hours. Then go back to canada the same day. Then actually move with their belongings etc on a later date as they won't be pulled into border patrol for hours on your second pass through. It also starts the 90 days it can take to actually recieve the green card. You can cross the border with just your passport as you will have the stamp in it!

  14. We just got our shipping information and tracking numbers for canada post.
