  1. Thank you. I appreciate this. I still can’t believe I made this mistake, but I am just trying to rationalize thinking that everything happens for a reason. thank you again!
  2. Yes, they both do. I double checked the forms I sent (I filed online) and both of them are incorrect when it comes to items 61-62. Absolutely my fault. I filed online, so I have the copies of the I-797 already. Regarding my service center question, I was wondering how they determine which service center cases go to. Do they base it on where we live or random? I know to send the forms themselves to the USCIS lockbox in Phoenix.
  3. I am sorry. I do not know the answer to your question as my case is different. 😔 Maybe you can try to create a new post, so it will be visible to those who know more?
  4. I am sending my I-824s today. Regarding what SC the forms get sent to, is that random or depending on where I live?
  5. I think I will go to the I-824 route. The plan is to actually bring my parents here next year, so they can spend more time with relatives there. I am just hopeful that the I-824 will end up in a desirable service center, so they can actually be here next year.
  6. Thank you so much for all your help. One more question about fee. After paying the I-824, would I still need to pay the AOS and IV Application Fee at NVC?
  7. Okay. Thank you for clarifying. Would I need to pay a fee at the NVC again?
  8. It says both on their applications Saint Paul, MN. I am so frustrated right now with myself. Can I send them an email saying this is a mistake?
  9. This is going to sound really dumb, but 61 and 62 says Saint Paul, MN. I don't even remember putting that on there. What can I do at this point? Do I need to resubmit the entire thing?
  10. Oh goodness. I had to double check! No, I did not do that by accident. Do you think I have not received any mail from the NVC because my parents' applications are connected to each other and my mom's just got approved today? Thank you.
  11. Hello! I am a little confused with the instruction on the approval notice and the NVC website regarding bringing my parents here to the US. Fortunately, my mom’s I-130 got approved today. Now, after I get the approval notice in the mail, I want to do the next step - which I understand is the NVC since they are outside of the US. My dad’s approval (December 2023) notice says to file form I-824 and pay the filing fee so the USCIS will forward the form to the NVC. The NVC guide says the USCIS will transfer the case to NVC then I will file the forms they need there. I have not gotten any welcome mail or email with the case number from the NVC. I checked the guide here, but it didn’t answer my question. I also sent an inquiry to the NVC, but I thought someone here may know the answer. Can I get some guidance please? Thank you!
  12. Hello, I submitted I-130 for both parents in November 2022 online. My dad’s got approved December 2023. Sadly, nothing has changed with my mom’s. It still says case was received. I cannot submit an inquiry because the USCIS website says it is still within the posted processing time. I can submit an inquiry in June. Should I be worried? What could cause one case to progress faster when they were submitted the same day online? I have not taken the next step for my dad’s petition. I am getting worried that if I keep waiting longer for my mom’s that his will be considered abandoned by the NVC soon. thanks!
  13. Hello! I tried following the FAQ pinned but the link to the USCIS FAQ seems to not exist anymore. My dad’s I-130 got approved today, but my mom’s is still pending. Can we wait for my mom’s to be approved before we proceed with next steps for my dad’s? Also, I do apologize if this question has been asked repeatedly. Do I need to file more documents after this first step, or can they set up an appointment already at the local embassy to apply to be an immigrant? if there is a step-by-step direction somewhere please link me to it. I appreciate all of you for answering my questions!
  14. Hello, As expected, my parents did not pass their tourist visa interview because of lack of ties to their home country. So, we decided to file an I-130 instead. I filed the petitions online and submitted the documents required (birth certificates, marriage certificates, naturalization certificates, passports). Do I need to file a sponsorship form as well? I did not see it on the required documents. If I do, can I still submit those even if the I-130 is already in? Edit: I am a citizen already. thank you!
  15. Thank you for the heads up! I was able to reschedule them for November this year. Now, I am just anxious about them getting approved or not.
  16. Hello everyone! I just paid and booked the tourist visa interview for my parents in the Philippines. I did not realize that the visa fee is only valid for a year. My mom just pointed this out to me. I paid yesterday 09/20 but their interview is May 2024. Would I need to pay again? Thanks!
