I crossed the border to USA from Canada on June 12th after receiving my Immigrant Visa (Passport) from the US Consulate in Montreal dated June 2. I received my SSN (Social Security Number) by mail on June 26 and it was dated on June 14. Can anybody who crossed the border in the last 9 months tell me how long did it take for your green card to be mailed to your US address after you paid for your immigration fee and did you have to sign for it ? Thanks..

Question- How do you change your mailing address on your Visa application as my wife (sponsor) and me have purchased a new home in the USA ?

Question- I had my interview January 9/2023 and my visa application was refused due to an application type on my police certificate. I re-applied for my police certificate with correct application type and it has been updated and all is good. I have couriered my documents back to the USA consulate in Montreal. My question is how long does it take the embassy to review my documents after they receive it ? Does anybody have any history on re-submitting documents after their interview? Thanks

I had my interview January 9th 2023 in Montreal and my RCMP criminal record check I did in Timmins was the wrong application. I was sent home with no passport as they kept it and asked to send an updated criminal record check from the local police station in Timmins. I updated my CRC at the police station and they were sent to RCMP in Ottawa that day. Today is day 80 and I haven't received my documents in the mail yet. RCMP finally notified me on March 9th via email as they won't answer phone calls anymore, that my CRC is being processed and apologized for the inconvenience. I noticed @Selfmade received his update less than a month back from RCMP and he had his interview same time as me. Has anybody had the same issue as me ? Thanks

NVC never caught my application type as it was Visa-Border Crossing-Foreign Travel-Work. The US consulate in Montreal caught the error on January 9,2023, which was my interview date. I went back to my local police station in Ontario the next day and they re-submitted my application to other/ RCMP National repository Entire Holdings on January 10 and they transferred the application digitally. I have not heard back as of today on my status which is 45 days. The RCMP division responsible for this process are not taking phone calls only emails and voice mail. They're busy and they haven't responded to my email. My question is why it took Reliable screening 4 business days to get your results and I have not received my results using the local polices services in my home town ? I'm very confused with this !! @F2J_March I reside in Ontario and went to my local police station and we don't have an RCMP office in my home town. closet location is 600 km.

I went to my interview (Jan 9) with the visa border crossing certificate and was told I need the RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings. I applied the next day for the updated certificate at the local police station and they sent directly to RCMP. Today is day 36 and I haven't received the new document from RCMP. My original police certificate took 37 days. I see on other comments that it took 1 to 2 weeks and even 8 weeks.... I'm confused now!

When do you receive your SSN in the USA after you receive your passport back & green card (CR1) from the US consulate in Montreal ?

My wife said the same thing to me.

My visa application was refused because my certified criminal check application type was for Visa-Border Crossing -Foreign Travel-Work and it should of been for personal use: other/RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings. My handler at the US Consulate helped me out and what to do with this issue and the mistake was from the local police services I dealt with and the police service took my fingerprints again and updated the application type and re-send the paperwork to the RCMP. All is good and now to wait for mail from the RCMP and then send document to the the US consulate.

I didn't need to submit photos of myself at Medical Centre in North Toronto as they took a photo using their camera.
